Can someone please advise whether this topic belong here or not?
The question is : what app do you use to transfere music from computer to your mobile phone (iphone)?
I dont feel comfortable working with iTunes.
I loved iTools, but then this app does not always work!
Anything else that does the same job?
Thanks.

I'm not trying to be funny. The fastest way is to buy something other than Apple. But that is just in my experience. I have wasted so much time just getting my iPod to sync. Seriously, it would add up to days. Now I just drag and drop on the Samsung.

a few months ago i was trying to transfer a song to my brother's iPhone. there is no SMB (Windows shares) access on the iPhone, Bluetooth file transfer with Android devices doesn't work (both media and OBEX/FTP), there's no SD card slot, there's no file system access over USB or over Bluetooth. everything the software industry has came up with to facilitate the process of exchanging files isn't accessible on an iPhone. the fact that you need a "iPhone management software" to do any of that tells you all you need to know. shame, really. i like their hardware.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

There isn't built in but as with most things there is an app for it:Burillo wrote:exactly my thinking.morelia wrote:I'm not trying to be funny. The fastest way is to buy something other than Apple. I use iTunes Match. I just import the music into iTunes and it's then synced to the cloud and available in the Music app on all my idevices. But it costs about $25 or so per year.
Or use iTunes. I don't love it either, but it works so I don't see why you wouldn't use it since transfering music to iPhone is basically what it does.
Or I use Dropbox and a third party music player (tons on them in the App Store). Not my prefered solution...

well, yeah, but that kind of defeats the point. if internet is accessible, the files can just as well be sent via email. the point was, the facilities aren't there by default. even if we discount SMB (as not all Android phones come with that sort of capability, it also has to be installed), the rest of the things i've mentioned should be builtin. I mean, what is the point of Bluetooth if it can't do anything with non-Apple devices? the whole point of Bluetooth was platform agnostic information exchange. same with USB - what is the point of having USB if you can't do anything with your phone unless you have special "management software" installed? standards are standards for a reason.aMUSEd wrote:There isn't built in but as with most things there is an app for it:

Cant abide iTunes, so I use CopyTransManager.

I absolutely hate the iPhone/Apple protocol. That iTunes interface is CONSTANTLY updating and takes forever. I no longer use an iPhone (though I like the phone itself).
Instead, I have a Spotify premium account. Create a playlist and flick an "on switch" in the app. Tunes will automatically download to your phone or tablet and stay there for as long as you like.

Actually these days I don't bother syncing my iPhone or transferring anything, I just carry around a small wifi drive with me (which also doubles as a battery charger and card/USB reader) that has all my data and entire music collection (in FLAC) on it, and I stream music from that using Stratospheryx Music Streamer.
