Glad I was able to help. Thank you George! I did good? :)

Hi,

I have searched this forum, but I haven't seen anything regarding Bliss crashing when exporting to SFZ.

I'm running Windows 10 Pro x64, Studio One v3.1 and Bliss 1,0 Beta 6. Sampling the instruments works ok, as well as saving the program (ZBP). But when choosing "Export Program to 16bit SFZ" (or 24bit) Bliss "crashes" together with the host (I have tested with both Studio One v3.1 and Native Instruments Kore 2). Kore 2 crashes completely (quits), but Studio One stays open together with Bliss. The .sfz file which is created is 0 bytes.

Is this a known problem? I checked the log file from Bliss, but it says nothing about a crash. The last line says Exporting SFZ file...(x:/path/filename.sfz).

Yes, some SFZ exporting can lead to crash. It's fixed already for 1.0.0.

Sounds great George, thanks! :)

Hi George,
i compared the new Bliss with the old Highlife-Sampler. I recognize very slightly differences in the Playback-Soundengine.
Bliss sounds very accurate and "clean".. but Highlife had a slightly different sound-character which i liked very much (especially the Filter-Section).

Could you please implement a Soundengine-Selector (for switching to Highlife-Sound-Mode)?

Thanks and best Regards
Matthias

Post

Hi Matthias, HighLife was using a less than stellar algorithm resampling, so the sound character may be related to the filters. We will see what we can do about that since Bliss has been written from scratch.

George,

Do you have a rough estimate when v1.0.0 will be released? Aside from the bus fixes I cannot wait to see squshed, I'm also curious just so I can plan better my work schedule for the end of the year. BLISS is a lifesaver! :)

Hope it's sooooon! Keep up the great work folks.

We hope to get 1.0.0 released next week :)

Wonderful news, I'll be waiting!! :) :)

sup, just played a great show using multiple BLISS instances as sampler for my MLR patch (monome-style phrase juggling). can't wait for 1.0. George, i'm the guy who emailed you the x64 reaper crash from the log last week.

i have a couple of questions or possible feature requests. are these features available? didn't see them in the manual:

1- macro option for sample start/end control. i only see "loop start/end" but would like to adjust the entirety of the sample start/end apart from that. i understand that if a loop is set, that changing the sample start/end values will also change the loop start/end values. not a problem.

2- midi-controllable zone reverse. i see the destructive reverse, and that's cool - but would be great to have as an on-the-fly effect.

also, i did not have luck loading this VSTi into Bliss's sampler: http://www.dskmusic.com/dsk-analog-matrix/

it's a nice little synth with some great patches that i want to sample because it doesn't remove well in REAPER.

We have greatly improved VST support, I think we fixed that bug already.

There is a 003 - Offset Start that may come in handy.

We will see, but can't promise something like that.

I'd recommend trying with several hosts, the lighter the better (ie.- VSTHost) and 32-bit.

cool, will try a couple hosts and on 32 bit. as long as it'll load up to the 64 bit bliss version that'll be just fine.

quick note, would be really nice to be able to load zbbs from the main screen in addition to the "edit" page.

downloaded lots of them from your site and while i do appreciate that you can drag and drop them over the interface (nice!) it'd be great to be able to load them directly through the main page.
