Let the record show that this is the first attempt at a sample set by SBelmont.
The piano sampled here is a Kawai Model 600 studio/semi grand, from the early 1960s. It's a big (6'-7') pretty black piano with keys and the lid opens and looks like a big Tylenol. The sound is pretty middle-of-the-road, with a bit of an edge to it on the hard notes and a silvery roundness to the soft ones. However, it bursts with subtle character. The treble is just slightly out of tune, the action clunks and chirps with every note, and something hums along with the low G from somewhere within the bowels of the instrument.
I mic'd the piano with a stereo USB mic on the bent-side, and an sm57 on the inside of the piano. Through a couple of days worth of trial and error, I coaxed something out of (give or take) an hour's worth of samples, and managed to wield it into something musically useful. Minimal processing was done to clean up the samples. If you listen reallllly hard, you might hear a clock ticking or something. I wound up not really using the SM57 audio feed, since it didn't really sound that good (rather woody, really). I'll probably make something of it later down the line, though.

Any feedback and/or suggestions would be great!

First and foremost, thanks for offering up your effort.
A quick listen suggests that it's quite inconsistent across the keyboard (huge tonal difference between E1 and F1 for instance).
A fair amount of ringing/harmonics as it gets higher, along with a lot of cabinet (I assume) echo at the top.
All that said, throwing a classical midi at it, it sounds like a piano

I debated whether I should or shouldn't try and smooth it out with filters, since the actual instrument is also quite inconsistent (my hands are utterly faultless
) and I didn't want to overprocess it. But I s'pose a little bit here and there can't hurt.
The upper harmonics are probably just sympathetic resonance from undamped upper strings, nothing unusual, and the "echo" might just be the action clonking. It probably also doesn't help that the piano's in a very acoustically poor setting (an alcove), so there really isn't a whole lot of room for all the noise to escape :\

I actually don't have Kontakt, but it looks fine to me. Interesting that you chose a picture of a Steinway as the wallpaper. Here's a picture of the real thing
