Maybe I'm missing something (or missing the point), but for such a versitile VSTi, why is there no ADSR envelope in Tau Pro?
Let me state it another way - I'm trying to create the long Drum n' Bass sine "drops", the long decay "doooooooooom" sound (sorry for the explanation). What are my options? (A popular example would be "Bugaboo" by Destiny's Child)
Otherwise, AMAZING plug...truly the best sounding analog sim yet!

What you really need for that kind of bass sound IMHO is a pitch envelope (which the Tau Pro definately doesn't have). The reason for this that the sound has quite a lot in common with an 808 kick drum - a fast pitch sweep down at the beginning of the note creates quite a percussive "click" which makes it really punchy for a subbass.
To get this sort of sound out of Tau Pro you could cheat, basically. Use the 36dB filter, set the cutoff really low and the resonance off. Put one wave to a sine wave, and one wave to something else. Set the decay time short and the env mod high. This will close the filter down rapidly, creating a "plick" of bright harmonics at the start. You will no doubt have to tune the cutoff frequency to get the strongest sound for the body of the note, however. If the cutoff is too low the filter will reduce the volume of the sustained sound, which isn't what you want at all!

OK, I've just programmed a quick example. I'm not familiar with the Destiny's Child track but this is a nice, punchy sub bass sound for sure:

Thanks! That's definitely a sweet patch - you guys at Muon rock...really great sounding stuff and terrific support. What's next for Muon?
As for the "doooom" I'll try an 808 sim like you suggested, and save Tau Pro (and your patch) for the more melodic stuff. Btw, I just added a little "drive" to your patch to fatten it up...sweet.

Glad you liked the patch. There's quite a few Tau Pro banks available here on KVR too so don't forget to check 'em out.
Next product from us will be another CM instrument, the DS-404. I can't say what it is just yet, but you can join the speculation over at the CM website www.computermusic.co.uk!
After that, I get a holiday. Only kidding(!)
Later on this year we've got planned updates to *all* of our older products, some more bug fixes for SR202 and last but not least, Positron!
