(enabling modulation)
Thanks to all the forum members who have shared information and techniques. Thanks UVI for the incredible tutorials!
You are obviously using the wrong modulator as “unison = free running“ makes no sense. Unison or Unipolar Unison is a static modulation source located in the “External“ modulation sources-folder, unless you're using something like an LFO as a sub-modulator.mrfrenkie wrote:Hi! How can i make stereo detune for FM osc? I trying add voices on layer and modulate pan and pitch via Unisono but Unisono not free run. It restart every time and I hear bad flanger effect . How i can make typical simply unisono stereo width? Thanks!
Ok. Thanks. And what am I to do? How can i make simply and classic stereo detune for FM?Sampleconstruct wrote:You are obviously using the wrong modulator as “unison = free running“ makes no sense. I thought I answered that already with my post...mrfrenkie wrote:Ok. Thanks. And what am I to do? I m sorry if i not understand you but what is the difference between your method and my method?Sampleconstruct wrote:Set Layer to e.g. 3 unison voices -> right click on the pan knob in the FM keygroup -> Add Modulation -> External -> Other -> Unison - adjust amount at the bottom of the GUI with the sider. Now do the same for pitch, right click on Oscillator pitch ->Add Modulation -> External -> Other -> Unison adjust amount at the bottom of the GUI with the sider - values between 0.08 -> 0.12 sound good as a starting point, you can also assign a sub-modulator like the modulation wheel now to increase decrease unison detune, use the knob on the far right of the sub-modulator to adjust modulation depth amount.mrfrenkie wrote:Hi! LOL - detuning the pitch with unison creates a flanger/chorus like effect, that's how things are, if you only want to spread the pan position skip the pitch modulation via unison, but maybe you're trying to achieve something totally different - I am surrendering now.mrfrenkie wrote:I m sorry if i not understand you but what is the difference between your method and my method?Sampleconstruct wrote:Set Layer to e.g. 3 unison voices -> right click on the pan knob in the FM keygroup -> Add Modulation -> External -> Other -> Unison - adjust amount at the bottom of the GUI with the sider. PS: I seems stupid but I just have a bad english.))
On the other hand, it's easily searchable.musiclover55547 wrote:The scope of this thread, which is convoluted, is crazily spread across way too many fronts and there really is no new news. Perhaps people should stop replying to the same, disjointed thread and start their own. A full time editor's assistant could not feasilbly digest all the information included in this never-ending thread. It's also getting to be annoying.
