As it's been 8 months since I've heard from him I'm not going to hold my breath but I'm going to put the offer out there again in good faith. Either way, it's no skin off my nose. It's frustrating when you have an agreement with somebody, put in countless hours of work for them, and then hear absolutely nothing for months. Sorry, but that's not professional and it's something I would never do to another person. I may come off as an abrasive ass sometimes but I'm at least a man of my word. If I tell you I'm going to do something, I do it and I expect the same in return. I could have been doing something else all those hours instead of what I was doing.

Anyway, I'm going to give this one last shot and see what happens.

Just move on.

Whatever industry or field you work in stuff like this happens, all the time. He's got his business to attend to, you've got yours.

FYI, if you want wagtunes Mangle presets, he gave them away here:

Got 'em. Big tah for that.

Emailed Tom asking if there were new presets in the full isntall, got this back:
I have some presets from Wag, and some more from Gabriel Dib, which will all be included. But in the end I decided to create a library of my own too, because I think I can show off what The Mangle's modulation and other advanced features can do better than anyone.

But the truth is I got a bit sidetracked by a new synthesiser I'm working on. I also didn't want to ship presets until the preset loading/saving system (re: embedded audio) was good enough, which I think it is now.

Excuses, excuses. Anyway, I have bought some portable recording equipment and I'm busily making a gnarly library of my own. The latest release includes one new preset 'pallete' called Moody Guitars which is a taste of the sort of thing I'm making.

Thanks for getting in touch, and you can feel free to reproduce this email on KVR or anywhere else if you like. Sorry for my sometimes hermit-like ways, and all the best,

Tom
Nice guy.

Hermit-like. Huh, yeah.

He IS a hermit. Not hermit-like. A complete hermit, through and through :D

I emailed him and let him know that I would be working on another set of 50 that he's welcome to include when they're finished.

Hopefully, I'll get some kind of confirmation back.

confirmation != obligation
An idiot on Set Theory:

No, it doesn't. Except we DID have an agreement on the first 50 patches. It was in writing via email. I told him I would make 50 patches for him if he was interested in using them. He wrote back telling me that he was. I then proceeded to create them in good faith and sent them to him. I then waited for confirmation that he received them and were okay. I am still waiting for that confirmation 8 months later after numerous followup emails that I sent and now I discover (from reading the post above) that he WILL be including my patches.

It just would have been nice if he had told me that he got them and that he was, in fact, going to include them.

It's just common courtesy. Nothing more, nothing less.

So in the past, he had reason not to want to ship presets that might have problems related to that needed work, now done.

Anyway, my apologies to all for relighting this, just trying to help, maybe did, maybe not so much. It's great that this is being updated though.

The GUI is incredibly sluggish in Reaper 5 64-bit. Wasn't the case in the previous version. E-mailed Tom with details.

Doesn't happen in S1...

Same thing here. The update file works, but not the full install file.

Installed full presets version (using Bitwig on OSX here) and there are only 8 presets that show up in the interface. Searching my hard drive, there are no more ".mng" files installed. So now I'm confused.

Oh wow, excited to see an update! Really can't say I was expecting it.

To those who haven't received the email - check your spam folder, especially if you use Gmail. Gmail user here and mails from Tom have gone into my spam folder in the past.

Exactly...

Also update problem on Win64 bit here.
During install choose only 64bit and choose location (where placed previous Mangle dll version), then click install and it's installed very fast (like if nothing puts to HDD), and really overwrite of old dll does not occur.
Win7 64bit, tried just plugin v1.1 updater, without samples.

My thoughts here too...

There may be more reasons (that we're not privy to) why communication lines are not what they should be between these two people.

My advice, for any professional (without taking sides) is simply to move on. :tu:
