Why would someone else want to do it if it's already been done (brilliantly)..?

An Arturia one would be pointless and far less good sounding.

A better price point, competition is good for the buyer, and all that

I mean why do Apple bother making stuff, when Windows is a much better option in all regards

Yeah, anybody rating Windows over Apple is of course a troll

Your lame answer deserved no other reply, like

"I am happy with impOscar, why would anybody want anything else than I am happy with"

No, bringing up a Mac vs PC debate is.

No, the point was, why would a developer sink money and development time into a product that is already well covered in the marketplace? The only reason to do it is that you can bring something new or better to the table - otherwise, it's a wasted effort.

As far as the points you raise - price etc, there is nothing that Arturia would do much differently to the existing product, and they for sure wouldn't do it better, as impOSCar is, and has been for a long time, a highly regarded, great-sounding emulation, and Arturia synths are, mostly, largely not-so-highly regarded.

Not debate but flame war that usually starts when hordes of Mac people are starting to attack person with pro-Windows opinion.
Look at this dialogue: one states that windows is better, why you even think to reply him?

Sorry for offtopic
Murderous duck!

I'm afraid the Oscar was emulated too well and is too cheap for this argument make any sense. Go back into the archives when Imposcar was released for comparisons to the real Oscar. 10 years ago Imposcar and the Timewarp 2600 were the first reputable emulations that did not have the plasticy softsynth characteristic of other emulation attempts.

As far as price is concerned, Imp1 came with Gforce Oddity, Minimonsta and M-Tron Pro as part of a Future Retro Pack for less than $200.00. Imposcar 2 added 64bit native compatibility and even more features not found on the hardware Oscar.

The Imposcar developer is Jon Hodgson on kvr.
