Falcon 1.0.3
I am probably missing something.
What is the bug here ?
I don't see any white flash anymore.

I looked for the change-log during the installation but couldn't find it.
Is it online anywhere? Or would you mind posting it here?

Super impressed with you quick updates and communication guys. Congrats and Thanks!

I just use a normal text editor, works perfectly fine.
Advanced users can take instrument design further by creating custom script processors that can generate, or modify MIDI data. You can even design fully-skinned instruments with the Lua language.

Is it on par with Kontakt 5 scripting?

Anybody can show some skinned instruments made with Lua?

These instruments must be used inside Falcon, or can work outside like VSTs ? I mean, like with stuff exported out of Maize Sampler for example

The parameter value is hidden when I drag the mouse.

It should be like here (It's standalone)

Must be used inside Falcon. All UVI (and 3rd party UVI Workstation) instruments have GUIs made with UVIScript.

And yes, it's on par with K5, in some aspects it's better (using transparency on graphics, for example).

Wow :o You are the K5 expert, so you know this stuff for sure.

So when do you think third party libs will start to show up for Falcon like for Kontakt 5

The good thing about third party libs for Kontakt 5 is the low price point they have, and great quality.

There already are some by GospelMusicians and AcousticSamples. As for others, dunno. Falcon (as MF3 before it) has a bit different scope than Kontakt.

Big multi-mic heavily multisampled libraries will always be more efficient in Kontakt, since it's ridiculously optimized to the bone (likewise: KSP is after all a lot more efficient than a JIT Lua interpreter in Falcon). Falcon is a more modular architecture than Kontakt, and modularity always brings overheads in RAM and CPU usage. Hybrid libraries are more likely to happen with Falcon, since it marries sampling and synthesis under one roof, much like Omnisphere, except here you have control over the multisamples.

It's hard to tell what will happen. It's up to developers to decide what's best and most feasible for them. A lot of users don't like the iLok requirement of Falcon, on the other hand developers like the protection it offers. We'll see. I don't have a crystal ball. :D

Simon has one in the works called Falcon Air. Bet there's more.

Here are some scripted LUA interface for Falcon/MachFive:

That's nice, but looks a bit like Kontakt 4

Could stuff like Cinemorphx be transferred to Falcon for example, having a like/better interface?

I'm working on one but I am treating this more as a synth than as a sampler or some other beast.

The problem with Falcon (and it's a great problem to have) is that it's so open ended, you could create a library just utilizing one or two aspects. The problem with that is you may decide to create something that nobody gives a rat's behind about.

If you have my Omni 2 library, Falcon will probably be very similar to that one as a frame of reference except Falcon is way more flexible.

The final library will have roughly 600 patches and multis. I'm hoping to have it ready sometime in January.

It surely could, but whether it's worth the time and effort is best decided by SL.

Would be a question of supply/demand

If third party scripted libs in Falcon must be iLok verified like third party libs for the UVI workstation, that will have to unfortunately raise the price point of most libs I guess
