Wow I tied in third place? Fantastic!! Thanks for your votes everyone!

By the way, what happens in this case where we have three people tied in third? I see that I'm placed fifth.. I'm absolutely happy with that! But what goes in to working out placements for people with the same score? (i.e. Why am I fifth when I have the same score) And what happens if Hanz Meyzer, Orboscope and I all want the same prize?

I'm absolutely thrilled with the result, but just curious at how the system works in situations like this. :)

Rules state: (https://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/rules)
In the case of equal scores after voting, submissions will be separated by how many 5pts they got,
then 4pts and so on
However, Orboscope and Hanz meyzer had an EXACT 54321's sum tie... so I flipped a coin.

I think the tie breakers are who has the most 5s, 4s, etc. You are probably 5th because 3rd and 4th got more 5 votes than you did.

I see! That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification!

Yeah, a tally of the 5's, 4's etc is included on the spreadsheet if you're interested.

Congrats everyone^^
Now the contest is over, i can tell i'm glad a-type made it to top 5, my favourite track amongst all.
But the competition was fierce to say the least!

Wow, thanks... uhh... I didn't really expect to win this thing! A few really great tracks I thought could easily hit home runs.

It's really an honor to be a part of this contest. So, thank all of you who participate for being a part of something so great as the OSC... it *IS* a religion! And we're living our lives according to the OSC commandments. It's really been about the learning experience for me and I only hope I can give back as much as I've learned over the years (note my ongoing offers ;)). This community is awesome and full of very creative, talented people - each and every one of you (and of course Brian and the prize donors)!

I'd like to say congrats to everyone who completed a track and submitted it. I can be a lot of work, hopefully it is as rewarding for you as it is for me. My special shout-out this month is to doctorbob, you took the cake with your [admittedly] ear-infecting melody and excellent execution of that track. I could congratulate each and everyone one of you for at least one special thing about your tracks this month. OXE was a pretty good synth, maybe I'll fork it on github and release a version with +/-12 pitch bend and a better filter!

As for prizes, I'll pass. On to you: Photonic!

Congrats, Z, and the top 5, but congrats to everyone, because if I look down that field, this time I think there were many tracks who were absolute winners and somehow couldn't make it up there, too. Remember to look at your scores and you know that people dug your stuff!

Merry Christmas, by the way, and enjoy the rebirth of our sun with making lots more music and getting ready for another great year of OSCs!!! (I hope?!) :hyper:
