Here's a short YT video showcasing some sounds made with the new R-Clap envelopes, and explaining their structure.



A tutorial about the Sequencer Micro Position parameter : Deals with how to make Snare/Claps layers as large, or tight as you need, make shakers groove, or make Toms fills sound more natural and large. Also Reverse sounds. You can adapt this for a part in your Daw, and adapt to other purposes like differentiating the percussion lines from strict drum lines, to make them breathe and be more distinct in the mix. Well, it's about drums



New StiX tutorial : How to get hundreds of different *analog* Bass Drums by tweaking just a few knobs on the Eazy Synthesis Page. Morphing from FM Bells to HH, the terrific Xils-Lab 4th gen 0DF filters, and the use of Macro Controls (In short : All you can do with the EZ synthesis page Macros Controls ...)

Here's a sequence line made in 7 mouse clicks with StiX.

Here are the 7 Mouse clicks in the right order :
1/ Load Drumpad ClayDrumWT ( a sample I made with a wave table synth ) in the *perc 1* slot
2/ Click on a diode to populate the sequencer line with 16th notes
3-6/ Remove 4 notes out of the 16 ( this was the longest part )
7/ Add one *division* on a sequencer Step
I could have made better if I had clicked on the 'Random fill* Sequencer Line diode : Only 2 Mouse Clicks, but with no control on the beat, and strong believing/hope in *Random Heaven*

2/ Global Presets audio demos : One pattern only, or a Song, or playing live with StiX

A very simple beat. Only the analog engines were used for all drumpads. Only stereo output with a limiter on the daw main output. Only StiX internal effects ( including the reverb) Then, I just changed the patterns live using my midi keyboard.

In this demo I used cross synthesis to modulate analog oscillators with samples for the BD, Snare and HHs modules. You dont actually hear the samples ( their output is zeroed), what you hear exactly is : Samples modulating analog oscillators.

3/ StiX with other intruments
Exploring the Sample engines. What I did : Triggering a few different patterns with my midi keyboard, along with the Kontakt stock *Funk* bass (that also plays the chords). StiX Stereo output, no limiter, no external fx, etc. You can hear the flams ( made with micro position ) and *a la rototom* tunings in the intro patter , the rolls etc. Btw I did not use the *swing* for this one. I just used 6 steps per beat.

Soft Ilok is available. ( Similar to Ni C/R protection as I see it, so adopted by thousands of people)

Not even remotely similar to Native Instruments C/R protection to be fair. Pace uses a far more invasive form of copy protection in their soft ilok version. If Xils used their own copy protection like U-he or Native Instruments that would be one thing but they use Pace and Xils customers are then at the mercy of Pace and Ilok. I had software Ilok on my system at one point and it was causing my system to literally shut down when loading or unloading that Pace protected plug-in. I tried everything and I finally removed all things Pace and iIok and never had any issues since. Native Instruments software has never shut down my system ever.

I bet this is a great drum synth but the choice to use Ilok for copy protection makes it an absolute no for me.

Xils makes great sounding instruments for sure.

Well, a small company is more likely to disappear than Elicencer or Ilok. I remember my Gigastudio becoming suddenly useless.I never had any problem with Ilok, Elicencer or NI, but I've seen people having problem with NI -or similar- and Ilok, at times.

StiX will allow : Soft Ilok (no hardware dongle) , ELicencer, and Ilok hw dongle.

I'm not going to discuss protection methods here anymore. If people are OK with any of StiX protection methods, the better. If some people aren't, I'm sorry for that, and for you Doc Brown. I respect your choice.

Videos will come last. Sound is already there. At least some examples. And everyone will be able to demo StiX soon. If possible, I'd like to have someone like Mr Dan Worral (??? now sure of the guy's name thanks to ere2learn) to make a video for StiX. I loved some of the videos he made.But anyway, videos take time. Don't expect them soon. SOrry for that.

I wasn't trying to bash xils for using Ilok with their new drum machine I just had a very negative experience with that software and wasn't aware that you will also be using Elicencer which is great news for me.

Another small draft demo. Drumpad are all analog synthesis. No compressor, no EQ, no nothing. Just StiX stereo output/Limiter on main daw stereo output.
