Kind of interesting that I have to download a 5MB file that is a downloader, to download another file that is just 44MB
I mean why couldn't I just got the chance to download the 44MB straight from the link I got in the mail after signing up?
Makes me think that this x-mas giveaway is also a sort of beta test for their download manager

There is included a manual with the installation file (51 pages)jc_vt wrote:Has anyone found any documentation for these? Some are obvious, but I am not finding XY very intuitive....

Yes it was a five minute gotcha for me, too, assumed the download installer just installed the .iso file -- NI please fix this, the installer should prompt and just install the blocks.Numanoid wrote:Kind of interesting that I have to download a 5MB file that is a downloader, to download another file that is just 44MB

I can live with a little hoop jumping getting this kind of stuff for free
First impression is that this is very useable and easy to get into stuff, they have included a generous helping of snapshots too so one can understand a little better what these things are capable of from the get go
The "patches" in the XY seq sound really good

Nope they've been using thus system for a while now. It's actually very slick because the downloader is also the installer and when used to download Komplete you can just download what you need.Numanoid wrote:Kind of interesting that I have to download a 5MB file that is a downloader, to download another file that is just 44MB

Yeah but in this case a user is only downloading one file, so there is no need for options to select what to downloadaMUSEd wrote:It's actually very slick because the downloader is also the installer and when used to download Komplete you can just download what you need.

Yes maybe this is the reason, but it is still strange!Klinke1 wrote:It's because of the Komplete Kontrol plug-in format... i bet.EnGee wrote: Oh! After the installation and activation I noticed that all Arturia synths appeared in NI Service Center! Are they one company now? Or just a cooperation?
NI:
Native Kontrol Standard (NKS) is an extended plug-in format. Established by Native Instruments, this groundbreaking development offers an entirely new quality of software/hardware integration. Third-party developers can now configure their software instruments to access the unique hardware features of the KOMPLETE KONTROL system directly. Leading instrument builders such as Arturia, U-He, and Output Audio are already on board, and the list of NKS partners is growing rapidly. The result? True integration.*

Didn't NI have a special promo last month for the Arturia bundle and affiliated moving forward with NKS?EnGee wrote:Yes maybe this is the reason, but it is still strange!Klinke1 wrote:It's because of the Komplete Kontrol plug-in format... i bet.EnGee wrote: Oh! Yes, this irritated me considerably. On the Mac, it was twice that size, too. Waste of 13 megabytes and time just to do a download of a downloader. What's the point? I know how to download files, otherwise I couldn't have downloaded the downloader.Numanoid wrote:Kind of interesting that I have to download a 5MB file that is a downloader, to download another file that is just 44MB
