Didn't get mine today either Alex

Post

Thats good to know...I have been sitting here determined that my postman must have got up late and that it will arrive anytime now

Post

Just back from the 'Pistols'
(And a few late ones in Quinns, Camden )

The first patch is called Attack of the clones and a few of the others are sounding quite fat with a 'PH' but I litterally got 3 mins before I left for the tube ! There seem to be quite a lot of tweaking to be had with the variety of samples on offer .. I am looking forward to having a good delve around with them and bits and pieces.

More tomorrow from me and probably others !

To prove( petty I know ), The tutorial starts on p22 for 6 pages and the Sex pistols started their encore with my way ( Sid was unavailable for tonights showing) Johnny Rotten was whinging about the Cure all night ! Not as good as Roma stadium 5/6 years ago...

heehee, Aaron.

Post

Hehe. Aaron is quite correct.

My subscriber copy (yup, I have to wait too) dropped on the doormat this morning and in my excitement I got butter from my toast all over it :-(

Cheers
Dave

OK Dave....here is my first attempt of creating a patch for a sampler (never had one before...thanks Muon! ). It's an 808 drumkit and you can all get it here:

DS-404 808 Drumkit.404

All of the samples were synthesised by myself using MDA DrumSynth and some modules from DR-008 so you don't have to worry about copyright .

The kit consists of a simple 808 set of 10 drums (Kick, snare, clap, ride, rimshot, OHH, CHH, low Bongo, Med Bongo and High Bongo).

Hope you like it

Arse! Damn you, Alex

Well, its a bit late, but here it is:
Supersaw - mp3 demo of Supersaw.404

Ideal for trance music - Add reverb, delay, and flange to taste. I have no idea where the samples came from, I had them lying around in my samples directory, theyve probably been there for yonks. Anyway, Enjoy. Well doneto Alex for pipping me to the post

Nice demo Tokartta

OK...here's an MP3 demo of my drums for you too....just a simple loop to show the drum sounds in my DS-404 808 Drumkit!

Hope you didn't mind Tokartta....I borrowed your mp3 to add to my drums rather than adding something from another synth....thought we could keep it a pure DS-404 demo then!

Was that OK with you (I'll remove if not! )

DS-404 808 Drumkit (Alex) and DS-404 Supersaw (Tokkarta) demo.mp3

Yeah, S'Fine. Not the most suited drum pattern for trance music, but good nonetheless. That synth loop is actually from one of my creations:

All That I Need

Its getting quite old now, and in retrospect its actually not that good. Then again, I have just been listening to Digitally Imported and that may influence my judgement of my music for a while. If you download, dont expect anything extraordinary, I am only 15 years old after all.

AAAAAAAAANNYYWAY, This isnt a music spamming thread so ill shut up now.

Actually I rather like that track (and the SuperSaw patch). Could probably do with a bit of Tau Pro in it Tok so mail in for your prize.

Alex: some nice velocity layering there so definately mail in for your prize too.

Thanks guys, competition closed.

Kind regards
Dave

I know that my patch wasn't that great but this is the first time I have used a sampler...so I was quite pleased with the result ...glad you liked it!

I've usually been put off when trying all the other samplers but DS-404 was so sweet sounding (oh, those filters!) and easy to use. No doubt this is the first patch of many and they will hopefully get better!

Thanks again Dave and CM...the DS-404 definately filled a gap in my virtual rack!

Cheers Tokartta for letting me borrow that mp3...I'm at work at the moment so I'll listen to your tune when I get home.

Post

Sent my couple of emails, and hopefully the person recieving it for me and then forwarding it via msn (damn those hotmail communists limiting attachments to 1mb) will be back home soon.

In the meantime, I've been working on another supersaw patch:

Supersaw2 (1.44mb)
Supersaw2 mp3 demo (244kb)

(mp3 demo contains supersaw2 with some effects, a bass courtesy of Cm101, and plenty-o-drum samples. Made in fruitylops 3.5).

Ive got tons of samples lying around, so ill make some more today
