Tobybear MiniHost 1.0 final released!

Minihost is excellent for making new patches and, of course, some live jamming... and it looks magnificent and everything, but I find only one minor drawback... no "hold" or sustain button for holding those arpeggios, sequences and notes while you're programming or maybe I'm missing it somewhere? I noticed one thing also, probably a bug and it's not on my monitor: when I change patches in "Discovery", be it by mouse or by arrow keys, sometimes I get an "exception at address" error, but everything still works afterwards
, strange? Usually that means closing the program, but in this case... I don't know
Anyway... "hold" button... "hold button"...

@DuX:
- I'll check that Discovery thing...
- did you try holding down ctrl key and click for example with the middle mouse button a key on the virtual keyboard? The notes should then play in "hold" state while you can change settings.
@BigTick:
I thought I'd scan only DLL files, but I look through the code again to make sure it does exactly that in the next release
Cheers

Thanks, Toby
I usually look through the documentation
But you must admit "hold" function should be a bit more obvious, though

I have found the last few versions quite stable. I have problems with GalactiX 1.4 unfortunatly where it will load the GUI and then crash the program. However it seems to crash all the free hosts that I have tried...seems to work in the demos of the mucho expensive ones thoughClifAnd2k wrote:I have been using Forte Solo to convert VSTs to standalone. Up til now, it has been more stable that whatever version of Minihost I have.

How's it good for creating patches? Does it have a preset lab like Chainer that lets you morph, blend, and randomize?
I guess I'll just download it. :->

MiniHost 1.01 has been released (same download location):
- GalactiX working (hopefully)
- VSTSpy does now only scan files with DLL extension
- improved preset change behaviour

Yes Toby, this works but with just one hand close to impossible to do...tobybear wrote:@DuX:

Why not add a button for constant hold ?

ej 1.1 is trouble when loading. You have to press ok 127 times to load it. Holding down enter-key solves it. But if you shut down minihost while ej is loaded and then start up minihost .. uh .. trouble! Or is it just me?
Best regards!

@Crackbaby:
I can only test with ej 1.1 demo version - it brings up 127 times a messagebox saying that it can't save presets in the demo, I suppose you mean that? I can't do much about that, I suppose the full version does not behave this way.
I'll try to see what I can do, also with the Rhino 2 demo.
Cheers

Mmmh, Rhino 2 demo running fine here (except for the "saving is disabled" message).
