doh! I wrote a wretch tune in a major key!

there are so many different combinations of effects on each of the sounds in this, it's rediculous. The only thing left remotely clean is a kickdrum and the sid-lead from the monomachine....

enjoy, and watch you're speakers

this is just a beta.....

kit abused: sherman filterbank and metasonix TM-1 fed with machinedrum sequences and trilogy basslines, monomachine for additional leads, and I even re-amped things through my freaking monitors :hihi:

Why, oh why do I not stick to songs labelled "More Pentatonic Tomfoolery in Am". :D

JK.

When shit starts happening at 0:54, it really wrecks things up (in a good way). That lead sound is pretty sharp, and the white-noise-laden rhythm part is pretty aggressive-sounding.

I wanted to dislike it, but I couldn't. Top tune. :D (No offence intended with the word "tune").

When the motif gets buried way back in the mix at 2:40 or so, it's almost TOO buried... but perhaps that's your intention all along. I can never tell with music in styles that I'm not familiar with. :)

I can say for certain that you're doing something *I* have never heard before, but then again, I never listen to synth-based music.

thanks greg :D glad you're liking it - this is still on the rough side, and yeah, the 2:40 mark rolls around it could be a bit more upfront in the mix...

wanted to dislike it? I know that feeling :hihi:

I love that first lead, this tune really kicks off great! Any chance for a shot at a remix?

Wow, it seem so short..fast four minutes. :)

I stopped listening to at the drive-in to listen to this... so it better be good.

well intro aint catching my attention really at all. hope something happens....

around :50.. still kinda boring

ok, theres something... ok still boring, didnt I hear this in one of my xbox games?

er... its over now... I feel like I should be at the end of a level or something...

didnt really like it :( Nothing really stands out to catch the ear... lots of potential ideas that are getting pummeled by other potential ideas. Even if its gonna get all hardcore, you gotta keep the listener with sumthin... at least I didnt turn it off, production was great.

Still feel like I shoulda beat shiva or something (streets of rage... sega gensis remember?)

I was hardcore nintendo before I stopped playing video games... don't remember streets of rage, but I'll take you're word for it :D

thanks for the props on the production - and sorry it's not rubbing you the right way song wise, maybe you'll like the final, or maybe it'll be entirely different ;) either way - feedback appreciated and noted :D

good to see you floating around again btw :)

If any one of those melodies that pops out came out on top... and repeat through-out in different places... id be happy with it :)

I play mario every day :) mario all stars constantly... beat all the games so many times could do it with my eyes close.. in my spare time I work on time-attack stuff :) I have a few videos online, though not ultra fast im the fastest at acheive certain things (complete mario 3 getting every item possible)....

too many old video games starts to make almost all electronica sound like video game music

Post

yeah - there is some melody collision going on here... which is a first for this project :hihi: normally it's bassline driven with incidental melodic moments, this is a pretty lead driven tune.. I'll reassess what's going on - it could use some purification :D

Hey Michael.

Like the guitar like phrases at 1:27.
Building upon that longer would be something I would have done.
Staying in a major key is not often easy in keeping it freah as it goes along...but as you know, working in the tempered scale is a different kind of work.(apposed to rhythm and noise)

A healthy effort just the same! :)
....................Don`t blame me for 'The Roots', I just live here. :x

thanks barry :D yeah - I did a bit more work on it today, but I ended up getting rid of the clean lead (the guitarish sound)

I'm going to try and do some variations on the lead acid line, maybe kick the whole track up a notch when that guitary part used to come in....

but I got sidetracked by my newly upgraded live 4 :D

Post

different people different tastes;

I loved that slow crawling intro. But I think its yet too clean to be really Wretchy yet. Too much melody and too little dirtyness. 8)

Post

hehe :hihi:

you're right :D

The melody is going to take a holiday - it already has in the current working version... to be replaced by something far more menacing.... far more evil....

do you dare tune in later to find out :-o :hyper:
