I get the impression that what makes detuned voices fall apart is too much stereo spread. I don't even use superwhatever as such, but even with slight detuning a more modest spread level helps keep it glued together.chk071 wrote:There are some nice supersaw sounds in that demo, but also a lot of sounds where i hear that thin plasticky sound, and especially the unpleasant envelope behavior before version 2.5, and also the unpleasant character, when it gets to the more detuned supersaws. It's something which Sylenth1 does exceptionally well for example, also Spire, Dune IMO, not so.
DUNE 2 is out now!!

This synth is a gem. The only thing I wish for so far that is missing is at least a second arp.. If not 3 of them
Work around is to use an MSEG in the Mod Matrix to control pitch, but having access to more than 1 arp to assign individual unison voices would be sweet.

Just updated to 2.5, liking the new filter and envelope. The filter doesn't sound too different, but seems to sound louder when using reso. The envelope definately sounds better to my ear when used for filter.

Dune2's 3rd oscillator doesn't have PWM. What is wrong with those Germans. Hybrid's 3rd oscillator doesn't have PWM either.
This is probably going to be a real deal breaker for me.
The supersaw is impressive btw. Gives you full control.

Just add a new voice for another pwm osc.

But it will be send trough another filter. With Dune 2 you can not send 3 PWM pulses trough one filter.raymondwave wrote:Just add a new voice for another pwm osc.

Isn't it basically one filter, if you first set the oscs as you want using separate voices and after that switch the voice edit to ALL and go on with the filter?
You just need to be careful remembering which parameters you edit for which voice.

This is the patch structure from the manual. So I do not think it is 1 filter.raymondwave wrote:Isn't it basically one filter, if you first set the oscs as you want using separate voices and after that switch the voice edit to ALL and go on with the filter?

Sure, I know each voice has it's own filter, but in many cases I don't see too much difference whether everything would be fed to one filter or multiple filters in parallel. But yeah, not the same thing exactly. I wouldn't mind if the filters were available in the fx chain too.
