It was there before he took the whole site down, so most probably 90% of it is still archived on his hard disk.overhishead wrote:great idea, lend him a hand and start coding that html won't you? life's hard, lots of stuff going on, there's literally too much to do. if you can't make it to the blue collar work party, i'm sure wok could use a district manager in your jurisdiction.Mutant wrote:And maybe the main WWW page should include descriptions of all plugins with audio examples, to make more people want them.
We know WOK plugins are good, but some other VST enthusiasts may not.

Yep, there's a note just after the donation that it take a few days.Numanoid wrote:I got the link a couple of days later after donating, seems like he sends out the links manuallyjsp1979 wrote:I donated well above the minimum, but didn't get any additional plugins. ?
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

i thought about creating a thread on GS, but i believe they have a strict policy against this sort of thing. not sure if they'd be willing to make an exception in this case.Mutant wrote:Are you promoting this campaign on other popular forums too ? Ask a moderator there. My impression of their mod staff has been 100% positive.jbuonacc wrote:i thought about creating a thread on GS, but i believe they have a strict policy against this sort of thing. not sure if they'd be willing to make an exception in this case.Mutant wrote:Are you promoting this campaign on other popular forums too ? Remember we're talking about donations here - and for the former freeware plugins, not the commercial instruments WOK has gifted us this Christmas.Numanoid wrote:I'm just thinking that OP is going about it the wrong way, if €20K is to be reached.
I would have set €20 donation as a minimum to get the pack
The €5 minimum is presumably mainly to ensure any admin costs are covered (PP charges a percentage + 20c, for example).
And let's not forget, the instruments bundle was a gift - and it's in that spirit of generosity that people ought to be considering any donation they choose to make in return.
The average donation so far is a little over €10. If there were a €20 minumum, how many of those generous 265 donators might not have donated at all?
Now, if WOK had the time and inclination to arrange some kind of 'no-brainer' sale, the Christmas bundle would certainly be worth €20++.
And I'm guessing there would be no shortage of takers.

It is for all plugins, not only the former freeware.Syntilla wrote:Remember we're talking about donations here - and for the former freeware plugins, not the commercial instruments WOK has gifted us this Christmas.
Quoted from http://wokwave.com/I would then reissue all my existing plugins as freeware and publish new ones as donationware.

I prefer rather to pay for stuff, than to donate for it.

Eventually, yes - if enough people donate. Then all the plugins would be free to everyone, whether they had donated or not.Mutant wrote:It is for all plugins, not only the former freeware.Syntilla wrote:Remember we're talking about donations here - and for the former freeware plugins, not the commercial instruments WOK has gifted us this Christmas.

But the €5 minimum donation currently only(!) gets you the freeware.
Donators will receive a mail with a link for access to a download area for my past 44 free and experimental plugins.
(eMail may take some days)

The GoFundMe total has risen by around €500 since WOK announced this year's gift. (At a UK university, that would pay for about a week's tuition.)
Though, I expect, most people will have donated directly via http://wokwave.com/ - so it will be interesting to see how much the sum leaps when he somehow finds/makes the time to update it.

Thanks for taking the time to update the totals, WOK - clearly a laborious task, and time you would sooner have spent with your family.
So - an additional 300-odd euros. A 'drop in the ocean', perhaps; but I'm sure that people gave what they could - and not everyone can afford to donate. (I even heard of one guy who declined to accept your gift, on the grounds that he would be unable to make a donation in return. Some people, eh?)
Here's wishing you a happier 2016, Wolfgang - and may your son always make you as proud as you must surely make him.
