The monster synth has arrived ! Grab the demo from http://bigtick.pastnotecut.org

Note: This is a free update !

For users of the previous versions (Rhino 1.x, or V2 prerelease), you'll have to grab the full 14 Mb demo package, and use your previous 1.x key file to register it.

If you've used the V2 prerelease before and have done any work with the library, backup your rhino.db file before installing the V2 package.

Mr. Tick -

Just as a point of interest, what's the difference between the V2 pre-release and the final release? I have no problem grabbing the file (yea DSL!) just curious. Also, is there any uninstall proceedure we should be aware of before installing the V2 final, or is it a simple matter of removing the dll?

By the way, thanks for making this a FREE update. You really are, as the kids say, da bomb.

Cheers.

The final release fixes various little bugs found in the prerelease, including a nasty one which could make some presets sounding a bit weird. So you definitely want to apply the update....

You can install the final release over the prerelease, and be done with it.

I logged in but the only file available for download is the pre-release one. :?

'Rhino 2.0 pre-release - 14mb'

Is this the right one? Probably better to rename it 'Rhino 2 Final' or something to avoid confusion if it is.

Great Great Great !
If one wants to buy only one synth in life, then this one !

Thanks Great Tick ! :)

edit:
spoke too soon... if the initial error MsgBox with the "please download new version" is not acknowledged within 5 seconds, it even crashes Fruity and WinXP to BSOD. Hmmm.

edit2:
deleting the old Rhino2 pre 1 files before installing Rhino2 solved the problem. All fine now. Installer doesn't overwrite the old DLL, or Windows recovers the old DLL immediately.

As someone else pointed out, there is nothing that appears to be a final 2.0 release. The pre-release still has a June 24, 2004 date. The demo looks new - July 30, with the 31st on the manual. If I install the demo and then copy my reg key, will I have the full final version?

I am getting an error while loading the Factory bank.

"This file was created with a more recent version of the program. Please....and download an upgrade."

I downloaded the demo and put the rhino1 key in the rhino2 directory.
Anything I'm doing wrong?

For users of the V2 pre-release, you'll have to grab the full 14 Mb package again. If it's a problem please let me know and I'll make an update package (I haven't done it yet because it would have confused V1 users).

If you've done any work with the library before, backup your rhino.db file before install the V2 package.

Finally.... this is a free update ! Use your Rhino 1.x key file to register it.

I was seeing this when installing the Rhino2 final over Rhino2 pre-release. Turns out that it wasn't over-writing the old Rhino2.dll, I just deleted Rhino2.dll, did a reinstall, and everything works fine now.

I hope this helps!

The standalone is working fine.
The rhino2.dll in the demo is from 23.06.2004.
