The SX2.2 has solved the MIDI timing issues with recording.
Although, I have seen some strange bugs like.....
Calling the channel mixer faceplate and then closing it will switch off a channel's record enable. Strange but it occured once or twice on a MIDI VSTi but not on all MIDI VSTi channnels.

I wouldn't have thought that was even possible.
What about (Em)apple? Do they also pretend their software is bug-free?
I remember an interview with - I think - Charlie Steinberg announcing a new Cubase version some years ago. He said there were bound to be a lot of bugs in the first release. He said it's inevitable.

As said, at least we know about the bugs. Consider yourselves lucky - I'm waiting for my SX upgrade from VST5.1 to arrive - when it does, I've got a new host, new OS and new PC to get to grips with 
Still, at least I can go straight to SX2.2 without farting around with 2.0 (and I've got to do it over snail-mail, so it'll probably take me 2 days to d/l it!) And from what little I've read about the new synths - they seem to be pretty good.
It's true though - SX5.1 should be a good'un. Shame I couldn't wait until then to upgrade though.
And if the bugs do affect me, at least I know that most previous Cubase incarnations have had workarounds for them. I've never had any bug that I couldn't bypass because Cubase has always been so flexible. That's what we pay the big biccies for and remain with Cubase for isn't it? (it is for me)

So you reckon Live4 and Sonar both have absolutely no bugs
At least we know about the Steinbugs. Don't have to wait for Sonar to crash and then go back to find out why. I actually find Steinbadger's honesty quite refreshing.

Hmmm.... I just want to put in my vote for "I'm running SX2.2 with no problems".
In fact, despite people claiming that SX1-SX2 is a small step, I disagree. I'm glad SB are focussing on workflow and usage. Seriously, those customisable toolbars and tracklane tools are small but awesome. The grey bars for the black notes in the key editor (finally!) are a great addition. Input channels and the 48db gain knob on top of the mixer are great. Mini CPU/input/output meters on the transport bar rule.
Cubase rocks.

I don't know about live but own Sonar3 and Cubase SL2.Problem: Update has 47 new bugs?

My observations:
Cubase runs rockstable on my system. During any song, I've finished so far, Cubase didn't have one single poof.
Sonar has also bugs, but even if there are less in Sonar, I don't wonder, because Sonar doesn't offer half of options Cubase have.
An advice to smellytongue: use what fits your needs, but don't give other people advices about software you don't know anything about. Just use your Sonar and wait for features like audiometronome, surround, foldertracks, mute tool, pencil tool and a lot more to be added to sonar sometimes, somewhere in 2015. And if you are out of luck and live in Europe, then consider that any upgrade will cost you as much as a full version of Cubase SL.

Aha - I didn't know about things like that! Little luxuries like those certainly are what get my juices flowing. It was a pain in the arse to have to keep open another window in the older versions to see CPU use - and it always got in the way. Nice.Mini CPU/input/output meters on the transport bar rule.
