You're not thinking of the University of Iowa instrument samples are you?
They can be found at http://theremin.music.uiowa.edu/MIS.html

They're not compiled into a soundfont, though, as someone indicated the "Illinois" ones were, in another thread. (I couldn't find the Illinois one, either).
However, pljones did a few sfz mappings of the Iowa samples, which can be found HERE.

Actually, having listened to the piano samples rather a lot now, I think there is a soundfont based on them. Can't remember which right now but it doesn't reflect the quality of the originals. Of course, it also doesn't take 1.3Gb of disk space...

If you're looking at the Univ of Iowa samples, they will also need a lot of work to make them usable for this - they vary wildly in length (from a few milliseconds to more than a minute), most have a long silence at the start, and they're really noisy (lots of electrical noise). I played with them some and they're just not worth the effort to clean them up.

Nothing to contribute here, sorry. Just wanted to mention that every time this thread comes up in the message list, I can't help hearing in my head piano performances of college football "fight songs." :-D

Did you try the sfz piano map I did? I think it's the nicest piano I've heard... (I haven't actually checks how good the timings and levels are technically...)frootbat wrote:I played with them some and they're just not worth the effort to clean them up.
But they're really, really hard work *nodnod*.

pljones,
I tried your mappings! Quite sweet, indeed. It's a very balanced piano and a great mapping.
