Had some issues with syncing the arpeggio but that is fixed now.
So far it has been very stable. No crashes at all
Bit worrying is the cpu load: 20%
I will test how many instances I can get to work simultaneously.
By the way; I do appreciate the effort that went into getting Mpower in the OSC but I wont participate this month because it seems like a very complex, time consuming beast and I prefer 'simpler' synths (Charlatan, Oxe, Lokomotiv etc).
I think my time would be better spent on testing Helm and getting it ready for a future OSC.

I had to install the synth first in my new office PC (Win8.1/64), because the installation from the msi-file did not run under WinXP. Then I copied the complete directory (dll plus patches, I did not see any other files) to my music-PC. But without success.
I found other users had the same problem under Win32and64 months ago.
Has anyone tested Helm under WinXP32?

I'm posting this here from another thread as directed because I really think it needs to be discussed.

Except there's a flaw with this logic.
Keeping the playing field even essentially translates to "nothing that somebody would have to pay money for in order to use."
Now that applies to FX that are legal to use, such as delays and reverbs. Perfectly acceptable and yet I was told one month that I couldn't use a particular delay that used to be free but was now a paid for only plugin.
And that's fine.
But then what about free FX that alter the sound of a synth? Why can't they be used? If everybody has access to them, the playing field is still level. There's no advantage because of monetary concerns. The only concerns would possibly be OS specific FX that only work in Windows or MAC. But you've got that problem right now with VSTs that are either only Windows or MAC, leaving whole people out of the contest altogether.
And what about 32 bit plugs that can't be used by people on 64 bit systems, or at least not used easily? This certainly doesn't make the playing field level when somebody is forced to freeze every track or is maybe limited to only using 5 or 6 tracks because of problems with a VST that somebody on another OS doesn't have.
Point is, there is only so level you're going to make the playing field with so many variables involved. So why can't somebody use a free chorus or modulation FX if everybody on that platform has access to it?
I mean if we're eliminating certain FX because of what they do to the synth's generic sound, then all of those FX should be disallowed even if they're contained in the synth itself. Because there's no difference between using a comb filter that's contained in MPS and using a comb filter that's free on the internet, especially if that comb filter is cross platform and everybody can use it. Certainly more people than can use some of these synths.
So I'm not exactly sure we're successful in avoiding what it is we're trying to avoid. For that matter, I'm not really sure just what it is we're trying to avoid given all the holes in the intent that I've pointed out above.

The main reason for that rule is because the OSC is about showcasing what a synth can do, and the external/daw FX restrictions are in place to allow a that in a balanced way.
