Reaper in linux gives me a full asio daw, and it's output can be
just another sound source for the whole of linux, and does so
remarkably well. Happy as clams at high tide!

Interesting thread. Makes me wonder why there are so many arguments about which is the best DAW when everyone seems to be using more than one anyway. . .

Orion and Samplitude here. Orion for composition/ arranging, Samplitude for mixing/ mastering. Sorted.

I So I'll definitely be keeping my Nora compositions in Studio One, which is a really elegant combo.

Why is this so and less os woth other DAW's

Had S1 v2 and now moved to V3 and thinking about getting Nora so It would be great to know what is the best workflow in this combo.

Well, mostly because the routing needed is supported, unlike Live for instance, and by saying it is an elegant combo isn't to say some other hosts wouldn't work as well or be as elegant, just S1 is so for me, it just feels about as simple as it can be. I have fewer brain cells each day it seems, so simplicity and clarity are really key for me. And that I find one DAW simple and clear and someone else doesn't is fine, our brains all work differently. I also find Live super simple, so they make the best combo for me, I spend less time being confused. I love Reaper to death but it challenges my cognitive faculties a bit too much. I officially have brain damage, so maybe Presonus can use that for marketing: even people with brain damage can use this!

I do not have bran damage unless shrinkage counts.

Let me ask regarding Nora. In S1 are you using it in the Multi Instruments?
I tried the Cream arp and was not able to get it to route properly.
I am very new to this so likely I have overlooked something.

Most what? If we're talking about the most raw power and scope for the creation of electronic music at all stages, I believe the definite answer to that question is FL Studio + Kore 2.

I was getting ready to buy Nora and check out the video you suggested and then came the Melodyne 4 release. I will play with the new toy for the time being. Thanks for the helping. I will try this with Cream since I already have it.

With Nora 2.5 getting so much praise I wonder what will V3 be like. Wait for that?

On topic again. My main DAW is now Studuio One 3. Glad I chose it as Now I can use Melodyne 4 with ARA. I am strongly thinking of using FL Studio as a VSTi primarily for the Patcher as it is superior to the Multi Instruments provided by S1. Please comment on this combo.
