Want to try out your skills in other contests / competitions /challenges?
  • Indaba - Has a mix of popular and indie artists with various contests like remixing and song writing. Some people from OSC have had success here, including Irion Da Ronin.
  • KVR Mix Challenge (see stickies) - Who can mix a song the best (Without adding extra recordings /musical additions)? Each person starts out with the same stems.
  • Music Cafe (KVR, see stickies) - A thematic monthly competition. Use recording, real instruments, synths and samples.
  • RemixComps - An aggregator for remix contests from a variety of artists and genres (mostly EDM) - indie and popular.
  • Soundevotion (SDCOMPO) Competition - Even longer running than the OSC, the SDCOMPO is even more niche in that you must use a tracker, and set of specific effects. Great community. OSC participant OrganicIO has been a regular there.

Is this a 30-day demo? (Most of their stuff is 15-day, I seem to remember.)
Either way, should be an interesting month.
You're getting good at this, BJ!
None of the really dumb people I knew when I was young are young any more.

What a start of new year...!

And thanks bj.. for listing other competitions.

Holy mother of God.

Sadly, even though I own the synth and already did a 300 patch library for it, I just don't have the time this month as business is overwhelming me with work.

To the rest of you, you will absolutely love this one.

I envy you all.

Wow, this is l33333337 !!! Count me in!

Since when is the OSC using commercial synths? All I've got is an already expired demo so it's totally useless.

definitely at least since you complained about it being Synthmaster, earlier on in the year. but, specifically, since OSC31, I believe.

Well, to me it looks like this is no longer 'a friendly music competition'. How much did MeldaProduction pay KVR to promote their synth? :x

WOW, MPowerSynth!

I am not sure if I am happy with this choice. I fear after this month I have only scratched the surface of this synth. The parameters are countless. And the layout of all Melda plugins are not very clear. So much pages and sub-menues. For sure due to the amount of functions. My brain allways gets lost in such labyrinth :D
But it is too attractive to not give it a try. :tu:

That is nothing unsusal. We had beta or demo versions of Diva, Bazille, Hive, Synthmaster, Retlogoue and more allready in the contest.

How much are you being paid to complain about it?

The story:
z.prime recommended the synth (I was looking for something interesting/new to make a bang for the new year) wee over a week ago, and so I looked into it. I downloaded the full Melda install, thinking this would be a nightmare. Ended up being quick, with optional install of products. I thought the synth would be terrible, ended up having good patches, and great CPU, mac and windows support.

Then I emailed MeldaProductions (I have the emails and signatures to prove they were sent with replies) with 2 questions: 1) Confirm the trial is 1 full month, and 2) Would you like to donate licenses? They responded back with a few lines of answers, agreeing to the later and confirming 1 month full trial.

That's all the contact I had with Melda. I can give you the raw email with rsa signatures with and copies to prove.

We occasionally have commercial synths, as well as rare gems.
