Hi

I want to buy a soundcard for my son, I don't have a lot to spend and these two cards came up - any opinions/experiences from people?

The EMU is new out and looks interesting with those on board FX - the M-Audio, I assume is also reasonable given M-audios reputation?

Any alternatives or thoughts from people.

Thanks.

Flipper.

seems this Emu card is really something.
I ordered mine and will be here in about 2 days...

Audiophile is good but you get so much more from the Emu 0404.

Hi

Thanks for that - the EMU seems to be the one to go for-perhaps with a little Joe Meek or something similar for recording Vox/instruments.

Thanks.

Does the Emu 0404 use the same converters as Pro Tools like their 1212m and 1820m?
I use a Delta Audiophile 2496 right now. You're saying the 0404 beats it?

Post

It sure beats it, that's why the Audiophile has come down to £69.99 (which is the price it should have been when it was introduced) and will fall again before the end of the year, IMHO.
The 0404 has the onboard DSP FX which will take a hell of a strain off your CPU - the Audiophile has nothing.

maybe the audiophile is a bit more stable, cause its longer on the market... but i have the emu1820m and it totally rocks :)
