I was referring to Diversion patches which have oversampling set to x4 or higher, it's always over-sampled at x2, that's true.

Indeed that facility would be most welcome for Draft purposes.
During the early stages of a mix where nothing is set in stone there's nothing worse
than resorting to freezing tracks and other such techniques that break the creative process.

For that reason alone Diversion gathers dust.
Perhaps within a few years when CPU prices fall and their power increases Diversion will come into
its own?

I really love this new GUI, the capabilities and sound of this synth.

When you do this please correct this also :

From the manual :FX Modules located on the bottom row process the Bus 1 Processor’s output.
The top row is used to process the Bus 2 Processor’s output.

Text for Bus-1 and Bus-2 are flipped on the GUI.

And WOW what a beauty this is :hyper:

Anybody notice if the CPU hit is lower/higher or about the same in v1.4 ?

Post

It's the same, he changed only the GUI going from 1.3. to 1.4. Also, I didn't experience any difference.

Yes Noticed this too...

Just bought and I want to specially note the top-notch customer support - there were some issues from my side but eveything was resolved by Dmitry in less than 10 minutes :tu:

Everybody knows that the synth sounds amazing and I also want to add that the CPU consumption is much better than I used to think - on my new i7 PC it is on the same level as Serum (and I like the sound of Diversion much more), so I can easily run several instances even at maximum oversampling.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Downloaded the demo, it sure does use a lot of CPU, with some patches a single note occupies an entire core of my CPU, and that with only 2x oversampling. Crazy 8) It does sound good, but frankly not as good as that enormous CPU consumption might imply.
When I compare the Diversion init patch to the same init patch on Sylenth, Diversion sounds flatter and weaker somehow, has less body and presence, despite showing louder volume on the DAW meter. Where is all that energy going when it is not audible?! 8)

The value readout on the display is a joke, the entire display is much too bright, contrast is low, and the fonts are too small.

What I like is that the volume per note seems to get decreased as one plays more notes, so the overall volume hardly increases.

Well, I guess everyone has its own likings and tastes.
As for me, I wouldn't compare Diversion to Sylenth: Diversion has a very rich, complex and "accurate" sound, full of details in the mid and upper frequencies.
I surely wouldn't qualify it as flat or weak though. On the contrary, with such a rich sound, these brighter frequencies may be adjusted quite easily to fit into any mix.
Then you can make it explode into a burst of anger anytime.
Finally, its stereo image is wide, ample and generous, and has absolutely no other competitors on the market.
All in all, Diversion is, for me, the deepest and best sounding soft synth available currently, with Zebra2.
Then came Zebra3… ;)

Yes, I did a simple pad before I uninstalled it, just two saws and chorus at soft setting, sounded very nice :)

Considering what you can do with it in comparison to Sylenth1, who cares about the sound of the init patch.

Sure, but such simple patches do tell a lot about the sound character of a synth. Of course I also played around with other features that go beyond the init patch.
