Came across a lovely live recording of Joni from a BBC live show that someone has cleaned up and remastered in high quality:

fascinating to see some of her songs off albums yet to come (not even just the next but also the one after that) in their process of evolution - Joni really loves to craft her songs, I can think of several that she started writing many years before they made it to an album. Also check out that awesome Dulcimer!

Also - found a bootleg of the Wembley concert I was at (2 days before my birthday - it was a birthday present to myself)

Can I post too!?
- Being a fan boy for like most of my long life, this interview/performances is maybe one of the most moving i`ve seen to date. From her album "Turbulent Indigo".

Nice find - which track are you thinking of?

I love how her voice matured from bright and pretty to robust and sexy.

No I snagged it for later - but I wondered if there was a particular favourite that you like - I wasn't that keen on much of her output after Mingus but if I know what to listen for I will give it a try.

Ah, I see. It`s been awhile since I watched this last...and i`ve now just started watching it again...I believe she plays a few from that CD and maybe does some other tunes...but maybe just from Turbulent Indigo.
I bought the CD at the time and it`s one of her best efforts if there can be only a few. I love every song on it straight through.
It`s advanced, like Mingus or Chalk Mark in a Rain Storm was for the time, so if you listen to the CD, it may take a few full listen to really get it.
EDIT - I`m maybe getting a little carried away saying it`s one of her best efforts. It a good record. Intimate in as far as production and lyrics.
I think she does maybe 4 Turbulent Indigo songs in that vid, the rest are from other records.

Binging on Joni tonight - she is just so fantastic

I haven't heard anything about Joni since her (stroke?).
I'll have to guess they keep it all quiet since droves of ppl would be camped out at her door everyday if we knew just how frail/gone she really is.
So, God bless Joni Mitchell.

Here is maybe the last song she produced that still shows her inner genius.

Terrific musician, smoked too much.

Not a fan of smoking but ironically it actually improved her voice over time - easy to hear in her 2 decades apart versions of Both Sides now

And in, what is one of my favourites of her songs overall, the sublime Jericho, the change is apparent but not complete and works wonderfully:

Yes I am on tenterhooks about this - probably the best way to keep on top of the news is her own site:
