Yeah I gotta agree with this.

This is the first time I've used anything by Melda so perhaps I'm just not used to the "Melda Approach" to doing things, but so far it's been incredibly slow-going. I've never used a synth before that is so fully featured, but so (in my humble opinion) poorly designed from a UX point of view. There's no flow to the operation or any hierarchy to the functions or information presented; instead it just feels like masses of features all packed in where ever they fit on the interface. Maybe even too much functionality to really be practical!

It does sound excellent and all this functionality is going to mean some amazing songs this month, so I'm really excited about that. Hopefully with more use over the next few weeks I'll slowly get to grips with where everything is... it seems that's the way this plugin rolls; instead of having the interface keep things in a logical flow, as the user you just need to remember where everything is. A very interesting, if not old-fashioned, approach to UX design I suppose! :D

As always, the OSC proves to be highly educational and fun! (<- not sarcastic... I mean that!)

Fantastic :!: An AU compatible synth :tu: Thank you @bjporter  I'm in :D Missed the OSC a lot during the last months...

I think this is going to be a use-the-presets month....

Too true. It surprises me how many EDM haters there are in a synth contest! I have this theory that a could do quite well and would be a good exercise. Need to bone up on music theory before tackling that, though.

Why would EDM be a problem? I remember a very active poster on this forum complaining about OSC being EDM-dominated  Don't think it really matters what type of song is being submitted. It only needs to be good and blow Everybody away

Yea - it just took waaaay too long to find the hidden glide amount. :bang: :bang:

WHERE?!!!! :?: :help: Could not find anything glide or porta related. Otherwise, a very rewarding synth to program from scratch.

Advanced settings on the Global tab...

Just some clarification before I paste this effect on everything. Is the SoundHack bubbler allowed? It's a grain delay type of thing:

Got it. Thanks.

Hint:

You can Ctrl+left-click or right-click the tabs to open them in another window.

I might enter this one -

this synth reminds me of my Alesis Andromeda, not in terms of sound, but possibilities, and envelope/LFO shapes etc
I was able to do a lot of the same kind of "modular madness" sounds :)

Hell you can even load itself into itself,

Though the filters are a bit sterile...

This is how I always thought Omnisphere should have been depth and complexity wise

Has anyone any idea why moving the pitch wheel on my Alesis Q49 keyboard should control the Volume on the Globals tab?

I loaded an instance of MPowerSynth onto a track in Studio One v3 64-bit and selected the PWM Lead patch in the Lead/Dirty section of the preset list. When I move my pitch wheel, the Volume on the Globals tab jumps to -19.8 and then goes up or down from that value, depending on which way I turn the wheel. And it's not just this preset; it's the same with others.

Obviously, I'm expecting the pitch wheel to control pitch. I've checked in the Advanced Settings window and the pitch-bend range is set to 2.0000 as I'd hoped.

Studio One recognises that I'm using the pitch bend wheel, as shown in the Control area at top left, but why is MPowerSynth not recognising it?

I've also asked this in the MeldaProductions forum but haven't had a reply yet.

Those M controller modifiers at the bottom of the synth default to global volume - maybe you have one selected and acting?

In the preset I first tried this with - PWM Lead - MOD3 is enabled, but this just modulates osc 1's pulse width. No other modifiers are active.

What's interesting is that I just tried it with headphones on and the volume up, and the pitch is actually being modulated by 2 semitones. But the pitch wheel is also modulating the volume between about -18 and -20.5 dB, so I couldn't hear it on my PC speakers.
