Hardware Controller For Plugins/DAW

Was not sure which sub to post this.

I am changing my studio to a more relaxed environment. No desk! More of a creation space then sitting at a desk staring at a screen space.

I recently bought a Push 2 to try out. Its great. Not sold on Ableton mind you. Coming from REAPER so its obviously a different workflow/mindset. Not necessarily a bad thing but the lack of a simple comping system is frustrating me.

Main thing I have LOVED about Push 2 is the ability to control/map plugins(incl 3rd party). Sitting comfortably playing with knobs instead of a mouse has been a breath of fresh air. Produced some fantastic sounding tracks. Mixing(whoever basic) has also been great. Using only my ears. Being inspired. This is what I want.

Lets say I chose NOT to use the Push 2( I already have a Linnstrument/Fishman TriplePlay) what hardware controller would you recommend? I want it to behave pretty much exactly like the Push 2. Endless encoders.

Nothing gives you half the features of Push outside of Live. Sad state of controllers. I specially love the visual feedback over the butoons (something Nektar Panorama didn't get), feels akward to look to the screen at the side.

Also in push 2 with all the control over mixing controls it is so fun to work it.

Something similar to work with other DAW would be Console 1 by softtube, and it only works with their plug in, nevertheless I think the workflow is great if you don't want to look at the computer.

X touch might be a good control surface for the mix deck if it support mackie HUI

I got a Panorama 1 off Ebay to try. The more videos I watched the more I liked the produce and company. I will let you guys know how I make out. Not going to sell the Push. See what I vibe with more. Nothing compares to the Linnstrument pads for a really dynamic performance. That much I know.

I went for the Arturia Beatstep Pro.

Has a control mode with many (2 rows of endless encoders, and similar 'pads'.

Has the added benefits of being a USB/MIDI/CV interface, and if you really want it, a standalone sequencer
