Is it just me or is this thing not too shabby at all? I've always ignored this one in the past but lately I've found myself dipping into the demo of this synth - and I'm quite surprised. Although it seems very limited it is straight forward (can be a good thing), it has a really easy to use arpegiator and the bass synths just sound really fat. As far as analog emulation goes, I've heard a lot worse.

I still have a license of it somewhere, but I haven't used Sawer in a long time, it's not even installed. I do remember that it sounded pretty good, but used a lot of CPU.
At the end of the day I should have gotten Poizone instead when I still used FL.

Speaking of which, you can buy my IL account, which contains the entry version of FL and three plugins, among them Sawer

First trying Sawer it took awhile before I actually found the effect section
Would say it is an excellent VA, only downside is that it is more CPU intensive than I like
Asking price is too much these days though, $99 + VAT
Image Line should slash the price in half so that Sawer could become the new affordable VA taking over after Retrologue v1

i agree, it is a great synth ( and not to heavy on my cpu?) and, as comment above states, it is because it is in fl studio it gets derided unthinkingly. there are some amazing instruments in there besides sawyer : sytrus, gm, harmor, harmless, ogun, skura.
i do use them sparingly however as the general sound is very 'bright' i find.
underrated no doubt. : )

Hell ya it's good. Here's a review I wrote on KVR 5 years ago:

I don't use it very often anymore but it still holds a special place in my heart
Keep in mind that my review is 5 years old. Synth plugins have come a long way since then (Dune2, MPowerSynth, etc...) but Sawer still sounds really good. It has not been relegated to my "legacy folder". Many of my older synths have.

Please, Fleer, what are MF and GC stores? I can't remember their common names...Fleer wrote:+1 for Polivoks!
And you can regularly get it at MF or GC for $25 or less.

Sawer is "based" on Polivoks int. components. It is not a strict emulation though. They don't sell it that way either.AnX wrote:Polivoks???Fleer wrote:+1 for Polivoks!
