Hi all, new to this site but already have found a wealth of information, great resource.
What lead me here was the tx16wx sampler. I want to try out the free version before buying. After I downloaded it I ran the installer but it is nowhere to be found on my computer. I have done a spotlight search-nothing. Library>audio>plugins>VST=nothing. in fact none of the folders in Library>audio have even the slightest hint it has installed. And yes the installer completed and said installation successful.
I am not sure if this is either a plug in or stand alone or both so I opened Logic and could not see it there as an option. (Logic 64 bit)
In the downloads page: http://www.tx16wx.com/downloads I have downloaded both the VST and AU versions.
I have changed Logic to 64 bit aswell and it does not see the sampler.
My mac is running Mavericks (10.9.5) and is as far as I am aware a 64 bit machine.
I have read through what I could find on this forum about this topic but the answers did not help.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Not sure. I installed it recently (as a VST) on my older Mac running OS X 10.7.5 and it placed the VST file in Library>Audio>Plug-Ins>VST It works just fine in Tracktion 6 x64.
Mavericks will only run on 64 bit Macs, as far as I'm aware, so you should be OK on that score. It sounds like for whatever reason, the installer isn't actually completing. You need admin access to put files in the location above. As far as I can remember the installer program asks for an admin password.
You may find more info about what's happening in the var/log/install.log file which you can view through the Console application, or any text editor. Hopefully any failure to install will be noted here.
Beyond that, you might want to ask in the CWITEC support forum - http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=213

That's part of my problem. There is no evidence anywhere on my machine that it has installed. I have manually searched all the audio folders in the library and there's nothing. So I'm afraiad I cant follow your advice (var/log/install.log file) as I can't even find that.
I'll hit up that forum you mentioned and see what happens.
Thanks for taking the time to help.

Apple goes to great lengths to hide the guts of OS X from users, but I expect /var/logs/install.log is there, unless Mavericks is radically different from the version I'm using.
If you open up a Finder window and press CMD+Shift+G you should get the Go To Folder box - if you type in /var/log/ that will open the folder for you.
However it's probably easier to just use Console, which you should find in the Utilities folder in Applications. You should see all the available log files listed in the bar on the left - install.log is where all programs using the standard installer record their actions. The logs can be quite large so you can filter it like I have in this screenshot using the text "tx16"

It is pretty technical looking but perhaps there is some clues within the logs as to what has gone wrong...
