You are right, yellukhan, there was a bug when applying the new rests and note lengths options. It is already fixed. I expect an update tomorrow.

Hi magicmusic,

thank you for the feedback and the screenshot. I made a stupid mistake when checking audio clipping, so it did not work. I fixed that today, so the peaks look like this:

Yes, I received the video that you sent me. This is an internal issue, the result of using the same phrases in two different compositions (the other is for preview purposes). This problem will be fixed soon when the internal storage and handling of phrases will be reworked.

Yes, I could reproduce it. This used to work when I tried, I can't believe it still crashes. I'll fix it today.

v3.0b9 is available!

The update has fixes for problems appeared in the previous beta version.

Changes:

Repeat option added to Rests
Audio clipping is really fixed now
Fixed: rests and note length options were not applied to the edited phrase
Annoying crash when pressing 'Cancel' during entering a chord name fixed

New beta version (v3.0b10) is available!

This update fixes lots of issues that were reported on this forum, or sent in e-mail.

Fixes and improvements in this update:

UI improvements in track inspector which is now resizable
Fixed ASIO channel menu and crashes when setting ASIO
Fixed a bug with shared rhythms
Fixed: VST instruments were not set up properly when duplicating or pasting a track
Using 7th interval with the Bass Generator fixed (it was actually a 6th...)
Fixed: removing a VST plug-in did not remove the .rcINST file
Fixed: progression preview crashed when clicking on a note
A problem with loading VSTi plug-ins fixed, when using VSTi preview instruments
Under the hood: UI layout engine improvements and optimizations

Happy new year, everybody, and thanks especially to Attila for the hard work that you're putting into RC's constant evolution. I just checked the new version for Mac and ran into a well-known problem: When I quit RC and start it again, I get the error message: "Error #2 during setting up VST-bridge". I don't know how to get rid of that problem once it appears. The only way I know is to restart the whole computer. Please think of fixing that, Attila.

Hello Thomas,

I am surprised because in early December the VST bridge was rewritten because it stopped working on OS X 10.11. Now it uses a mechanism that is available in all versions of OS X, and is future proof.

When you see this error, please quit RC. Check if there is another instance of RC running that did not quit properly. I suspect somehow a running RapidComposer remained in your system.

Then start RC in a Terminal window by typing:
/Applications/RapidComposer.app/Contents/MacOS/RapidComposer
and look for "error #4 (task_get_bootstrap_port failed)" or maybe another error message in the Terminal window. Will you send me the exact error message?

Anyone else experiencing this?

When dragging in one of the generators, how does RC determine which notes to use/display? Are they pre-set notes/scales/phrases, or are they randomly generated? Sorry if this is too basic and also asked in wrong thread.
