Hi all, never posted in this forum but have been getting my feet wet around K-v-R for a bit now. My link below will bring you to the first mix of my newest song.

Besides the obvious lack of quality vocals I do have a punch list. However I find getting feedback first before making changes is good as I might be obcessing over something others don't hear.

The song is called Pour Me Another and is the first song to come up when you click my link below in my signature. I'm a rocker so be warned. But feel free to download it.

I used Fl to write most of the parts running Vsampler for drums, bass and synth sounds and B4. AA 1.5 for the vocals, guitar and mixing. The guitar and vocals are both me. I hope you enjoy it... :D

For some reason the choice of drums or the treatment of it is not right. It sounds so dull and dry. The bass is not really audible and sort of blends in with the music.

I'd suggest trying to EQ and pan more to find a better balance between the instruments with a better emphasis on the bass and vocals and imo a different drumset (or distort it a bit)

Thanx Mystahr, actually the bass was one of my concerns. I'm using the naturally decaying bass soundfont, but I agree with you it kinda gets lost in the wash and is kinda muddy. I don't fancy myself a singer, so I tend to not bring it out enough...your suggestions will certainly be on my mind as I work on the new mix.... :D

Hey Hink.. when did you start posting songs on KVR? I'll check it out when I am in front of some speakers..
