Ive got my XP-30 hooked up to my sound card and ive tried every input in the back of the soundcard with the audio cables but I get no sound.
Ive tried every plugin that I thought might work like audio clip and sampler and layer....nothing.
What is the correct way to get audio thru the soundcard and into FL Studio so I can record live?
Yes Ive read the manual but I find nothing about it.
If someone could direct me to the part in the manual that says how to do this or could help in anyway I would be thankful.
I love my XP-30 and the Pads would come in use among lots of other of its great patches and performances.
I do have it setup as a midi conroller but I cant hear the XP to record it in FL.
SoundBlaster Live and FL Studio4
Thanks guys.

First off, make sure all of your inputs on your sound card are on, then in FL4, go to you're mixer down at the bottom, pick the channel you want to record into, look at the bottom of the mixer and u see, input and output, change the input to the one you have your XP-30 plugged into. After that you should start getting a signal. When you get that signal then click the "disk icon" at the bottom right corner of the mixer, it will ask u where u want to save the recording, choose somewhere to save it. Now get ur metronome where u want it and turn on live mode (record button) then after that it will record all sound coming from the input.. that sounds pretty confusing when I go back over and read this lol

What kind of Channel Wrapper do you set for it?
I have the Dashboard but I hear GM thru it....Should I unplug the MIDI cables?
And Im unsure about which input in the soundcard to use.
Which color is it?(lol)
And then in the options for recording which do I use the "record master" or "line in" or which...I never knew what the inputs are for back there.

well first off you're not gonna record anything without using asio drivers, so knowing the sound card is essential. Also you must have Producer Edition for audio. The fact you're asking what 'color is it'...tells me you're using the stock card for your pc which most likely doesn't have asio drivers available, but if they do they will be on the web site for your card.
Fortunately you can get generic asio drivers http://michael.tippach.bei.t-online.de/asio4all/
after that select your card in options>audio and it should appear in the drop down box in the mixer as described above. As always there is a good tutorial under projects in the FL browser and plenty on recording audio in FL in the help file, not too mention many posts on FL forum where I have posted screenshots as well.
The dashboard has nothing to do with audio, it is midi data only...

Sorry about that.
Yeah I got it to get sound into my computer now its just a matter of recording.
I can hear my XP thru my computer but it sounds like there is an effect on it.
Like delay or heavy chorus.
Once I get that part figured out it might work.
I have asio drivers(ASIO4ALL).
Thanks again.
EDIT:"Disable Input"(asio Options) removed the effects so....lol.....Im really close now!!!!!!!!!!!

Fl Studio is still not showing that it can hear anything.
I can hear my XP thru the computer speakers but FL says it cant hear anything and the Mixer LEDs arent moving.
I record and nothing happens....
Where is this in the Fruity Manual?
