With Omnisphere you are right: they implemented the midi learn function.WOK wrote:As you said that's made inside Omnisphere and Wusikstation. But if a developer did not implement up/down buttons with MIDI learn for the presets in a VST with a discrete preset management, it's not possible to achieve this from outside.
BUT Wusikstation not: if you load the VSTi of Wusikstation, there is no midi learn function for presets (next/previous). But, if you load it - as I tested - in the DAW Cantabile....Cantabile adds this function to the VSTi...however...And it works.

I just had a quick try with this
http://asseca.com/nicfit/pc_ck.html
and Arturia Minimoog.
It works, but the Mini need the Bank MSB and LSB for Bank and Subbank, so you can't run thru all presets just with one button. With standard plugins, the Reaper function "link to program change" can be used, and then a MIDI learn on the above plugin PC_CK loaded before the instrument plugin.

thanks for this, been reading lots on this issue over the last couple of days. setup reasynth and used the link to PC, think it works if I insert from track template.
love wayback! that page is gone, but thankfully it's cached - https://web.archive.org/web/20120602135 ... pc_ck.html
The 'link to programchange' in reaper - where is this info saved?
(in the track template? in the preset?)
on with the investigation!

bladerunner did you settle for the cantabile solution or did ya find a way with some plugin and sws action magic? (or reascript?!)
Sure this must be possible, just look at the size of that latest action list!!
