We've announced many new features coming in spring 2016 for our Rolling Updates program.

Retail and upgrade pricing remain the same for all customers. Renewal pricing for SONAR Platinum has been lowered. And a reminder, if you buy SONAR as a one-time payment, you keep everything you receive (this includes first-time purchase, upgrades, and renewals).

Peanut Gallery:

Hopefully without opening a can of worms, as an outsider looking in, the "rolling updates" initiative seems to be working rather well for you guys. As I occasionally look at the monthly updates or whatever as a non vested bystander, it looks to me like general feature development is moving at a pretty brisk pace.

The core plan seems to be... working. Good luck to you guys. :tu:

I recently opened a support ticket and while it has always been a crap shoot of whether CW will respond to it or not, I'm wondering if a support request concerning the 2015 updates are filled when the 2016 renewal has been announced but not yet purchased?

I also noticed that some of the same things are listed offers with the renewal that are the same as the intro offers of Platinum last year. So I also wonder does that mean with a renewal, I will get another XLN Producer set?
Can you please clarify/confirm this?

This is on our FAQ: https://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR ... AQ#Renewal

You won't get a new license of AD2 or Melodyne since you already own it, just like you wouldn't get a new license for SONAR. You will get all the new features we add over the year. PM me your email and I'll check on your support ticket.

The new “track flyout”,new GUI(currently,it's bit of messy),melodyne 4 integration enhancement(Studio one do a good paradigm,so Sonar should be better :D )… sounds great for me!

So, is Sonar destined to always be win-only?

Yes, for the time being there's no plan to port over to Mac.

Ha ha good one!

I don't use Sonar, but after looking at your development page I am very impressed with Cakewalks' transparency. Usually not a fan of software subscription, but I must admit that your approach is very well thought out and fair. I wish that other software companies would look at your model for inspiration....hello Adobe :)

"Core Editing Fixes & Enhancements" I wonder does it include the"split audio at prior zero-crossing"? That's a very convenient function to avoid click!!!

dedicated automation for Quick Groups is missed me most(when played with it), so currently an automation can be applied only one control, there is no macro based solution in Sonar(like is in S1, AL Bitwig, FL etc.), u can group controls but u can't automate them together which is super-huge limitation if u worked other DAWs before (IMO)

I certainly understand wanting this feature...
In the meantime, you can avoid the "click" by applying a very short fade.

So cakewalk are copying presonus studio one so far? Their CTO and head developer already called you out on in it two or three years ago.

Forget it.
