Theo, maybe lighten up a little bit. The other hit and run stuff Bob does put aside for the moment, the video was really funny and enjoyable so, no real biggie imo, mmv, ymmv.
A nice humorous distraction from the almost non-stop bickering and constant regurgitating of the same discussions ... "best daw?", "best plugin?", "best UI?", "most efficient host eva?", over and over and over around here, imo, mmv.

I hear you. I intentionally sprinkled those comments with a generous amount of "mmv's" for a good reason.
I just thought (again, the other hit and run stuff aside) the video was maybe entertaining enough to maybe be worthy of an exception. But your points above are still valid, and I recall Brent touched on it earlier also.

Yes, we do allow sidechain paths for 3rd-party plugins. You can make a 3-channel bus, and then send a stereo signal into the first 2 inputs, and the sidechain path(s) into the 3rd input (for example) where the plugin lives.TheoM wrote: Ben, my question.. are you planning to add side chain for 3rd party plugins to mix buss ..
There are some cases where we need better UI-controls for the plugin I/O setup, or the pin-to-pin connections inside a single track. That is on the short-term ToDo list.
Note that Mixbus has a built-in sidechain bus that is really easy to use, and solves maybe 90% of the use-cases and it only takes a second to do. For example you can assign the "kick" to the sidechain bus, and then use that to key the compressor on one or more of the 8 mix-buses. Each bus has a separate threshold and release time so you can pump the keys really hard, and the bass just a little bit.

The $79 Mixbus product is intentionally limited to 8 mix buses, because 8 analog-styled knobs fit neatly on the screen, even on a smaller laptop screen. That's a loaded question, but YES, that's exactly the kind of thing we work very hard to get right. I would have to write that Bob not knowing the conventions here is putting it in a friendlier light than he deserves this post not withstanding.
I have reported him twice in the last 4 months.
If he HAS to pitch here then he HAS to respond and participate. I am FULLY behind Theo in this matter...
This employee of your Company is by no means helping you with hit and run tactics being used in this forum by him.
I really think it is time for a change... in his tactics that is.
