In Cubase, is there any way to automatically create VST3 presets from a plugin's "internal" presets?

I imagine this has been asked before in one form or another, but consider Omnisphere. It has thousands upon thousands of presets in its internal browser. Is there any way to automatically convert these to the *.vstpreset form that Cubase recognizes in Media Bay? I know it can be done by hand, and I know there is a way to automatically convert VST2 *.fxp and *.fxb files, but is there any way to do what I'm talking about? I would pay darn good money for some way to do this.

I'm pretty sure that the Omnisphere presets are completely proprietary(your host can save settings, but the host isn't actually reading the Omni presets). There isn't likely going to be a way to do this.

What you're asking would have to be done manually, I say this purely from the catergorising of sounds as each plugins preset will have a variety of catergories and parameters to be applied.
In short I doubt it.
However, any presets I use in projects or favourites when browsing I simply save them as vstpreset. But I never catergorise.

I suspect the only realistic way would be to automate the process somehow, one enterprising user was able to convert all the Omnisphere 2 patches into Komplete Kontrol/Maschine NKS presets recently using automated scripts - even with categories.

Then again the downside of this is that it adds a gazillion categories to the Komplete menu to search between because Omnisphere 2 suffers from extreme category bloat. I'd rather not add that clutter to a preset database personally and find the Omnisphere browser reasonably adequate already, at least it keeps the clutter just to Omnisphere then.

Nice. I was thinking about doing this, including making it donationware. Although he is somewhat cryptic about how it was done ("scripts"), it obviously would be a pretty major task. I wonder how much of a market there is for something like this. Probably not much. I imagine that, in practice, it doesn't even occur to 99% of Omnisphere users to use something other than the internal browser.aMUSEd wrote:I suspect the only realistic way would be to automate the process somehow, one enterprising user was able to convert all the Omnisphere 2 patches into Komplete Kontrol/Maschine NKS presets recently using automated scripts - even with categories.

That's why I want to use MediaBay, which despite its shortcomings, is (at least in theory) a fairly nice way to browse, organize, and tag all presets from all instruments.aMUSEd wrote:Then again the downside of this is that it adds a gazillion categories to the Komplete menu to search between because Omnisphere 2 suffers from extreme category bloat. Im saving vst3 presets one at a time, and would love to find a tool that could automatically read a synths presets and create vst3 presets automatically!
Has anyone ever found an app that does this in 2024 ?

Download a software that controls the mouse. Record when you save a preset. Run it.

I think some ppl attempted to make tools for this. Read something about it on the Cubase forums a while back. Didn't really work well apparently.andrew732 wrote: Wed Jan 13, 2016 8:38 am I imagine this has been asked before in one form or another, but consider Omnisphere. But yeah, if this would be done properly it would be a game-changer.
