Managing banks and patches is still pretty unintuitive, and I thought it was just plain broken until I read the manual and learned that:
- you can right-click in the bank window to load an FXB. (In FLStudio, you can't load Rhino 1 FXBs in Rhino 2 through FL's interface, nor can you drag FXBs onto the Bank window).
- the Bank Name window only shows presets that are in the Rhino 2 folder. If you load an FXB, it'll still say "Rhino 2.0 Factory Bank" which is just confusing.
And now for the real bugs, not just UI oddities:
- It's very easy to completely blank out the Library window, by simply trying to add something or delete something to it -- and it doesn't come back until I shut down and restart Rhino.
- Some patches think they have been added to the Library database, but they don't actually show up in it.
- The scrollbar in the Library window doesn't keep up with the speed of cursor movement.
- The Library is very slow when adding/deleting.
- Need some way to clean out the Library without individually right-clicking every file in it, choosing "delete", confirming on the folder popups, and then waiting 3 seconds for it to actually happen.

Yes, but you'll have to blame FLStudiofoosnark wrote:In FLStudio, you can't load Rhino 1 FXBs in Rhino 2 through FL's interface, nor can you drag FXBs onto the Bank window.
Dragging fxb's into the bank window works fine for me in FLStudio, though.
Anyway, you should really copy all your banks from the Rhino 1 presets/ folder to the Rhino 2 presets/ folder. Then you'll be able to access them through the dropdown menu.
True. That's a weird refresh bug. You just won the award of the first item for Rhino 2.01 updateIf you load an FXB, it'll still say "Rhino 2.0 Factory Bank" which is just confusing.
How many presets have you put in there ? If the rhino.db file is not too big, can you email it to me (together with the name of a "hidden" preset ?- It's very easy to completely blank out the Library window, by simply trying to add something or delete something to it -- and it doesn't come back until I shut down and restart Rhino.

Anyway, what it really needs is a "search preset" function.
Well, you could always overwrite rhino.db with a blank one.- Need some way to clean out the Library without individually right-clicking every file in it, choosing "delete", confirming on the folder popups, and then waiting 3 seconds for it to actually happen.

Bigtick, I have the same issue with Live4 where it doesn't want to load the banks. I'll open them in the Standalone in the workaround, but you might want to change that.
I don't care...I just want mah sounds in Rhinoooooooooooo deux! Great update, sir!

Yeah, that's the best thing to do. Just a case of having so many options (some of which didn't work for me) that it hid the best oneBig Tick wrote:Anyway, you should really copy all your banks from the Rhino 1 presets/ folder to the Rhino 2 presets/ folder. I figured that out, user error- Some patches think they have been added to the Library database, but they don't actually show up in it.
I should clarify, scrollbar behavior is just weird in general (on the Bank listbox too). Every time I click on the "thumb" part of the control, it scrolls down 7 entries (unless it's already at the bottom) no matter how many entries are in the listbox.- The scrollbar in the Library window doesn't keep up with the speed of cursor movement.
The amount that the "thumb" and the listbox scroll is fixed, rather than being proportional as they are in standard Windows behavior. I.e. if I click the top of the "thumb" and drag until my *cursor* is at the bottom of the scrollbar, the thumb hasn't yet reached the bottom. The longer the list, the farther away from the bottom it is.
(A couple months ago I wrote some custom GUI code for work and had to deal with that -- I don't recall the trick exactly offhand, but the longer the list the farther the listbox has to scroll per pixel of mouse movement in order to keep up.)
Right now there are only a couple banks worth plus some strays, but most of them are at the top level instead of being organized into folders. (I was going to simply store each FXB in its own category in the library, until I figured out to copy the presets from the old folder). How many presets have you put in there ?
That'd be niftyAnyway, what it really needs is a "search preset" function.
Thanks, I'll keep that in mindWell, you could always overwrite rhino.db with a blank one.

By the way, I agree that preset destruction is really slow - It's because the database is being repacked at each destruction. Stupid me
I'll get that fixed for V2.01
