So I no longer have ARA !?!!

Is this right?
No, Studio also includes Editor now... :-)
In any case Melodyne Studio has ARA and DNA on its own and not
because the Melodyne Editor is included if one purchases the Melodyne
Studio. I could not find that the Editor is included with the purchase of
the Studio. If so does the Editor have some features lacking in the Studio?

Edit:
I am looking forward to a Melodyne ARA with multiple tracks.

Edit #2:
It may be that Melodyne Editor 4 is an integral part of Melodyne Studio 4.

EDIT - NM

Post

Is Melodyne good at deciphering vocal harmonies?

That's how I understood it. They now incorporated one into the other, which makes sense.

If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Sonar bedsides Melodyne also has another ARA plugin.
I found it easier to use Melodyne in S1. I did not spend
much time learning Sonar so this could be why.

Also

Tracktion has ARA.

All DAW's have an ARA Feature Request.

? I have no idea what that means. You simply click on an audio event and tell it to turn it into a Melodyne region. You then have realtime editing on that clip via the standard melodyne editor. The editor can be docked as well. I'm not sure how much easier you can get than that.

I use Cubase and I wish it had the simplicity for doing this like Sonar. I don't use S1, but I'd be curious how it could be easier than Sonar.

My apologies about ARA and Sonar. Like I said probably due to lack of
knowledge of the workflow in Sonar. Sonar has very feature that is on
my list but in the end I went with S1V3 thought lacking a couple of the
features I just like the workflow.

Sonar has a second ARA plugin but forgot which one it is.
I believe it is the Drum Replacer works with ARA.

Studio One, Sonar and Tracktion all support ARA which means its prett much integrated into the DAW.

All other DAWs will support it as a VST plugin or ReWire

Videos below including how to use it in several DAWs near the bottom of the page

Thanks guys!

I never fully understand KVR... When some developer releases the umpteenth synth or compressor plugins there's immediately pages of hype, but when something like this comes along, which as far as I can tell is pretty much unique in its whole, people complain about upgrades and websites...
Is there anyone who has really tried it and can tell something about it? From the videos, I think the sound editor alone has amazing potential, I am just pondering whether it would be finally possible to turn a DI acoustic guitar into something listenable?
Also it seems like celemony has put a lot of thought in the UI and workflow.
But obviously it is not really targeted at the home user/hobbyist market, price-wise, and I cannot really justify spending like 700€ for the big version. I'd like to have a monophonic version with the sound editor for like 150€, that'd be a killer...

Post

I'm using it for sound design, not correcting vocals or perfecting the sound of real instruments.
I like to experiment and see what happens alot of the time.
It's freaking cool.

I decided to look at Sonar Platinum one more time partially thanks to you. Though I recently decided to make S1 my main DAW I can still change my mind.

Sonar is the only DAW that has all the features the I require. Yes it has some weaknesses but so do other DAW's. For me S1 familiarity goes a long ways so it will be tough to switch.

I briefly checked Melodyne 4 Studio in Sonar Platinum 2015 and it seems it work fine. I have till 3-31 to continue my subscription for $99 and save $50

Edit:
I should add now that I Melodyne 4 Studio has been released and is now again an important part of my workflow the only two Major DAW's I am considering are Sonar Platinum 2015 and S1 Professional V3. I have to make a final decision one more time and live with it.

Post

Now that Melodyne 4 has been released and the early results are very favorable it may prompt other DAW's to incorporate ARA support.

I will like to see the following DAW's add ARA support:
FL Studio
Cubase
Reaper
In the final tally these did not make my possible main DAW list because they lacked ARA support.

I suspect that ARA support is in all the Forum Feature Requests threads.
