I am not clear on what the Sonic Station and the Capsules are but I am interested in finding out. Are these sounds you can use in sampletank le? Also do they take advantage of the effects that are available in sampletank le, like with the sound libraries I have now the effects are used when I load up a sound.
Thanks much!

Sonic Station is a more general purpose library, and comes with native programming for ST, Kontakt, Halion (maybe some others). I have tried it in ST and Kontakt, and lets just say Sonic Station and Kontakt were made for each other.
Having ST2/Sonic Synth and Kontakt/Sonic Station is kinda like having a Motif and a Kurz. The former is great out of the box, while the latter allows for some deep programming. Heart of my studio.

so they are not like the older libraies like the strings and pianos and all that are made solely for the sampletank engine? They won't have any effects on them when I load them up?
Kontakt is too expensive for me right now.

I am not sure if the upcoming capsules have fx programmed in. You can use the capsules in ST as well, but they work better in Kontakt as Squids will probably agree with. Perhaps the newer ones have better native ST support.

No, actually, the Sonik Capsules sound amazing in ST2 and they do have tons of effect patches. This is the new versions. Plus they expand into 1-2 gig libraries for ST2 via the UFO. This is different than previous UFO titles.
Sonic Station on the other hand currently does not have fx assigned to patches and is more for making patches and combis with. Although, we may add a special bank of fx patches for it at some point for both ST and Kontakt. It's already been started but an ongoing thing. Sonic Station is one of those less commercial but secretly very powerful libraries (mostly in the hands of people who want material to make their own patches with). If we did a group buy on it though we would make a special version with fx perhaps JUST in Kontakt or JUST in ST2. One idea was an ST2-only bundle of Sonic Station and all of the capsules on DVDs including unreleased patches that combine the waves of all of them. Sort of like a make-shift custom workstation. We could do that in Kontakt or another format too. So, we'll see.

OOH that is good. What is the Kontakt programming like?Squids wrote:No, actually, the Sonik Capsules sound amazing in ST2 and they do have tons of effect patches. This is the new versions. Plus they expand into 1-2 gig libraries for ST2 via the UFO. This is different than previous UFO titles.

They sounds great in Kontakt too, although I don't think they use a lot of fx there. But, they are some of the best sounding libraries for the money in Kontakt format. They are some of the best libararies we've done to date. Really, they are very nice. We'll have audio demos soon. But, when you play them you will see how expressive and cool they are. The acoustic & electric guitar capsules are just fantastic and the Studio Drum Capsule is insane. Eclectic is really cool, Bass and Groove are too. No one has these yet but they'll start getting them very soon. Maybe there will be some user opinions to add.progfusion74 wrote:OOH that is good. As you might know, when it comes to Kontakt, I don't really care for FX, but rather good source material, which I can use to create my own multis, etc. Sonic Station is perfect for that. That said, nothing wrong with good FX

I actually prefer to have the fx preprogrammed for me.progfusion74 wrote:As you might know, when it comes to Kontakt, I don't really care for FX, but rather good source material, which I can use to create my own multis, etc. Sonic Station is perfect for that. That said, nothing wrong with good FX
So Squids you are saying with these capsules when you use them in Sampletank that they make use of the fx (they are preprogrammed) with all the sounds? I would be very interested in these if this was the case and I really hope you do a group buy on them in sampletank format.
If I understood and could afford Kontakt I can see how that would be a lot of fun too.

Yes, practically every sound has about 2-5 fx variations using the ST2 FX to the max. So, for instance, the electric guitars has full amp chains, the drums have eq-compression-reverb and various different flavors, phaser kits and all kinds of stuff. It is done to a large degree for ST2 because of all the great fx it has. How could we not?

Will these also work with sampletank 1 or are they only programmed for sampletank 2? I ask becasue with 1 I can use more than one instance but with two I can't. Of course I could upgrade to the one where I can have more than one instance right?Squids wrote:Yes, practically every sound has about 2-5 fx variations using the ST2 FX to the max. In that case would it be fair to say that the new Sonik Capsules are targeted at ST2 (especially as they are being co-marketed with IK), or is that not necessarily true.
Man I want that Eclectic drums set

so will the capsules work with sampletank 1 le ? I actaully don't think I am interested in sampletank but I will probably get sonic synth 2 if I can use more than one instance with it? So can sonic synth 2 have more than one instance?
