I don't know wh̃y but sometime i write nice melodies,or nice pads i really like

when i play at full pattern kickdrum+bass+lead melodies+pad, thing sound pretty ok,but when i start to remove some elements and just leave lead melodies+pad alone.....it's sound pretty weird, not feel right! i mean, the pad really conflict with the lead melody, they didn't fit together, although both two start with the same root note, follow the progression formular with no wrong one!

anyone can give me some advices to solve this composing problem!

i would say post your melody notes screen shot and pad notes.....
kickdrum+bass+lead melodies+pad
usually you want to let pads have space to breathe...and use them in the non-percussion part of the song....because pads take up alot of headroom

Well...All I can say about pad sounds is that they need to be rather felt than heard in the mix. In other words you don't even know there is a pad until you turn it off.

Is that why I've been having such a difficult time properly mixing in my pads? :D I usually have a pretty loaded room.

Anyway, in response to the question: from what I've heard and what I've done (tried to do), I'll say "pads are meant to be heard and not seen." A simple, two-three note/chord pad in the background beats an overly-melodic, lead-unto-itself pad any day of the week.

Check out Mangadrive's "Wetware" for instance. Great use of pads, especially in the latter half.

It depends if the melody follows the root notes of the chords being played by the pad. Generally if its based of the tonic chord it will still sound 'in key', but if it doesn't flow with the other chords (meaning plays contrasting notes) this can cause clashes when using an instrument like a pad. My advice would be to create more space.
