Maybe it is not the envelopes, but a voice stealing issue. Does it happen with all those different voice modes?
The backlash at the end of the sound is typical of a too short filter release. Happens on soft synths as well.

It's not voice stealing, it's envelopes and VCA.

So, I assume it is supposed to be that way, I can't imagine that those experts at Korg have not done many hours of testing every aspect of that synth. They would have noticed...
Anyway, the sound as such is very nice, I actually prefer the sound of the Minilogue to the J8 in that video
Maybe I am wrong, but it sounds a bit like the Yamaha CS80, judging from the emulations of the latter.

I've only seen one video which shows clicking, and none of the reviews has mentioned it. Could simply be an isolated issue with that unit. Has anyone seen someone else validate this?

101's click too and i've never heard any complaints about these.db3 wrote:I've only seen one video which shows clicking, and none of the reviews has mentioned it. Could simply be an isolated issue with that unit. Has anyone seen someone else validate this?

The SH-101's clicks are not so loud when one of the oscillator waveforms is at max volume, and they're attenuated quicker when you slightly raise the attack time, also unlike the example shown. It sounds like it may be just a simple case of the oscillators' volume being too low compared to the VCA, but it's strange if KORG got the oscillators' gain wrong.Mushy Mushy wrote:101's click too and i've never heard any complaints about these.db3 wrote:I've only seen one video which shows clicking, and none of the reviews has mentioned it. Ok sure, admittedly without physically owning and using a Minilogue I cant compare how much of an attack change is needed to remove the clicks.Shy wrote:The SH-101's clicks are not so loud when one of the oscillator waveforms is at max volume, and they're attenuated quicker when you slightly raise the attack time, also unlike the example shown. it's far off topic but i recall korg's electribe drum machines also clicked heavily (synthesized kicks in particular even with a long attack). I have always considered it as a fault.

Ordered mine at Thomann
About the clicks: As evildragon pointed out, if you make sounds with minimal attack and release times on a synth with fast envelopes, you should expect clicking. Listen to the demos before the clicking hunting one. Did any of the sounds here reveal any noticable clicking? Either there were no clicking or they were too silent or masked to notice. In a musical context, they can be further masked. How many of you use your synths solely for listening to single patches for hours amd hours at minimal attack or release times?
I am not worried the least. However, If I am wrong and the clicking seems a disaster, I will report it here, when I get the synth.

thing is...having a reasonable fast attack and release (around 5ms) without a click. if it is possible ok...if not something is not right in ADSR design i think

^ 5 ms release without a click? .... and may I ask, what note is played for that to be expected?
As envelope time/shape is depended on the waveform length (pitch) AFAIK ... so the lower it gets, the more release you need for it not to click, if that's the problem after-all...

LOL do i really need to make a crappy picture in MS Paint to show all the newbies here what is the difference between fast envelopes that can give you a click if you set it that way and a broken synth that clicks on both slow attack and slow release ?
[edit]
Or wait !
I don't have to - you can download the video, put it in your DAW, zoom the waveform display, look at the clicks that happen BEFORE the Attack part of the envelope even starts.
