E27, New high-end Eq vst - once again

PSPaudioware and Avedis Audio have launched the PSP E27, a multistage equalizer plug-in modeled after the analog equalizer E27 produced by Avedis Audio Electronics.
I've read some descriptions, but this (original) is totally new to me. Can someone tell more experienced based about the use, specific strenghts and differencies to other "coloring" equalizers?
We really have plenty to choose of in these days.

On my i7 2.8Ghz this uses 10%!!
looks scary in the Bitwig DSP graph.
I thought it was the latency but only adds 2.2ms
Sounds nice and 'round' though

Ah yes, I do love videos telling me what a drive knob does as opposed to hearing the plugin in action.

That´s what demo versions are for, no? Demoing PSP plugins is a straightforward and hassle-free process...
Re E27: What a clever feature to be able to offset one channel and have the knobs move relative to each other after linking the channels. Great for emulating the subtle channel differences of hardware gear.

Nice animation. I'm just thinking, how often in practice you really need to adjust independently each channel, maybe more so M/S. (I have a couple of Eq's, Pro-Q and H-Eq with this option, I rarely touch the L/R separately - maybe I should.)soulone82 wrote:That´s what demo versions are for, no? PSP does elegant job, the latests L'otary and Plate verb belong to my favorites, besides the Oldtimer. Wish they had resources to give a major update to the VW and Mastercomp, which I all have but seldom use nowdays.
Trying the demo is most important - however, comparative user experience is equally valuable.

Indeed, it is a good plugin, I tested and I even wrote a review about this plugin here: PSP E27 Review

bought it, this is a sick plug in. Sounds so good. PSP raised the bar on this one. CPU is high but it will get sorted.

I use separate L/R EQing a lot more often than mid/side. Guess it depends what you are mixing though. In traditional recorded music it's used quite often for balancing frequency content in stereo recordings, like drum overheads, piano recordings, choir recordings etc. Often I use it to make the recorded track sound more natural in it's balance if the recording was slightly skewed.Harry_HH wrote: I'm just thinking, how often in practice you really need to adjust independently each channel, maybe more so M/S. You can also use L/R EQing to pan elements around instead of using a pan knob. This is really effective technique to create a "hole" in the middle for important elements while still keeping the illusion of the surrounding sounds not being panned all that much. Small touches can go a really long way.

By chance, are you a tester? We know PSP said they'll reduce CPU and improve stability in a future release, but no word as to when that will be. It would be good to know if that's already in beta and it's working.VariKusBrainZ wrote:Next version improves CPU drastically

I had a problem I reported which actually turned out to be a setting in Bitwig causing te audio engine to crash.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:By chance, are you a tester? They sent me a beta to test and the CPU usage is alot lower
