Does anyone know how to add VSTs to Acid Pro for midi use??? I've been researching for quite some time now and no one seems to know. All I want to know is how to add the VSTs once I've downloaded them...acid makes u chose a folder to pick VSTs, and most of the VSTs I download come in zip form and won't add to acid when I try. Does anyone know??

You have to unzip the vsts into a folder...then add them. Acid cant see into the compressed files.

I use stuff it for zip files, I don't know if ur familiar with it, but is unzipping the same as extracting or as expanding? How do I unzip the files? Thanks.

What they said... extract/expand into the VST folder...
However, Acid Pro can't work with VST plugins, only DX, so you'll need some VST wrapper, and there're quite a few...
And to disappoint you some more... Acid can't send MIDI data to plugins (if that's what you want). You can add a plugin as an insert on an audio track, or as an insert on a VSTi (synth)...

when I was in high school, I went to an equestrian center near my house, I used to be able to pick sroom caps that were 4-6" (10-15 cm) or larger. once we found a 10" cap among others. I took them home and made my usual batch of tea, drank a 20oz cup and ate 3 caps. by the time my parents made it home from work I was completely in my own little world.
They figured out what was going on in about 15 minutes, freaked out, and I ended up in a hospital where I was forced to drink liquidized charcoal (looked like black tempra paint) and spend the night there. until the charcoal took effect, I learned that the hospital is a very entertaining place to trip. I also learned that mushrooms just arent as fun anymore as they were 10 years ago...

Maybe it depends on the reasons behind the ingestion... And anyways, sometimes there's much, much more to be learned from a "bad trip"S_A_P wrote:I also learned that mushrooms just arent as fun anymore as they were 10 years ago...

Acid can too use VST EFX and Instrument Plug-Ins. You also can send MIDI data to the VST Instruments. Which version of Acid are you using??? Acid may not be the most sophisticated MIDI editor, but it allows you to do anything you need to do. I love the bussing system and for that much, the Acid interface.

I'm using Acid Pro 4 and love it. It does everything I need at the moment.anfmusic wrote:Acid can too use VST EFX and Instrument Plug-Ins. You also can send MIDI data to the VST Instruments. And no, Acid can't use VST effects, or send MIDI data to effects
What it can do, is use DX effects and wrapped VST effects. It can also use/send MIDI data to VST instruments (VSTi)
If I'm mistaken, and Acid can indeed send MIDI data to effects, not instruments, please tell me how, as I'd very much like to try Prosoniq's Magenta

I use acid pro 4.0... I was able to get a few VSTi's running with it, but I can't seem to find any good ones.
