not to be bashing, i just beleive that it alienates a musicians personal style. i'm not saying being inspired by another musician is wrong just in certain places, like here for example where all of us are somewhat on the same level, it makes some seem elite to others.
vurt if a track inspired by me exist, i'd be very suprised. its a cool gesture but you know..

nah i never feel elite mate
honest,im actually humbled by it
i know what you mean if someone copies by numbers but to be honest i think pure has gone beyond most of what hes heard of mine
anyway just be cool its all good and actually after listening to your tracks earlier i did plug in
so guess what im sayin is we all inspire each other because as you say were all the same, and for me sometimes it just makes me realise whats possible and push harder

Okay, let's get this clear...I DID NOT start making this track with the intention of copying vurt...I made a track and wanted to post it here and instead of writing some genre I just decided to write vurtish because more people would understand genre Vurt than genre Experimental Ambient...outsomnia19 wrote:it seems to me that this song would be better if it came more purely from ur own my mind, that is not inspired by vurt and regurtitated by you. although the song was ur creation,it would of never came to exist if someone hadn't inspired u. maybe you could of just posted the song and not of gaven so much credit to vurt. I don't think too much of emulators. however, cuz u did i will hold it in littler regard. the song's not mind-blowing but its ok i suppose. for the time i spent dling this I expected alot more.

Thanks for the comments, people...

I always wanted that Fizmo thing, but Neuron is fantastic
Yes, I agree with that idea (live recording, cd duration), I wanted to do that here, but alas I haven't prepared enough audio/midi channels for recording, and I couldn't "last" another 40 minutes just with Neuron (well, I could but that would be too experimentalMystahr wrote:What a treat to listen to. As a matter of fact all your work is worth a listen. I loved the phasing going on in the final parts. Very airy and if something is missing I guess a few sequences (rhythmic or lead/bass) would have brought a bit more variation. Though with that I am not saying that is neccessary here, just a thought.
It's my personal idea here too to create a fully live recording of CD-length (still in the preparation-docks here though), so this is only more incentives.
That Hartman looks to be a great synth man I wonder how it compares (or combines) with the Fizmo.![]()
vurt has inspired me since I came on the KvR boards, but I've travelled my own path since. I tend to disagree with you outsomnia. Inspiration does not mean copying or emulating a style, just being incited to make a tune. I personally get loads of inspiration listening to the diversity of tunes posted here; it's what you do with that inspiration that counts.

did you do the physiological tests? did you hand in you urine samples before posting? did you ask full permission for the use of the term 'vurt*'? did you consult your lawyers on the genre definition? did the pope give you his blessing before posting?püRe wrote:Okay, let's get this clear...I DID NOT start making this track with the intention of copying vurt...I made a track and wanted to post it here and instead of writing some genre I just decided to write vurtish because more people would understand genre Vurt than genre Experimental Ambient...outsomnia19 wrote:it seems to me that this song would be better if it came more purely from ur own my mind, that is not inspired by vurt and regurtitated by you. although the song was ur creation,it would of never came to exist if someone hadn't inspired u. maybe you could of just posted the song and not of gaven so much credit to vurt. Nothing compares to a Fizmo. Won't someone please make a Fizmo clone VST? Please, oh, please?!Mystahr wrote:What a treat to listen to. As a matter of fact all your work is worth a listen. Doesn't stream for me... now, I'm not gonna be a know it all, cos as far this stuff goes, I know pretty much jack, but if you create a text file with the URL of your MP3 in, and give it an m3u extension, it will allow the MP3 to stream, thus avoiding a massive download before you hear anything.
Maybe I'm telling you something you already know... or something you don't want to know.

man screw u, to say vurtish takes away from ur own creativity. create ur own style and dont rely on other peoples preasscociated ideas of what ur music sounds like. If i was posting something I wouldn't say "it sounds like squarepusher" because then it sounds like I lack orginiality; and thus sound like maybe a dickrider. and although thats perhaps is not the case here (not to call u a dickrider Pure) but it still sounds the same when read. I am pretty anal-retentive, but certain things I just need to let out..

that's just plain nonsense mate.. unfortunately we have to use a rather limited language to describe our enormously complex and diverse reality, we give things names to describe what it is. If I make ambient music I will bloody well call it ambient.. what the f**k is the problem with that? how the hell does that limit your originality.. it's like saying a painter can't call his painting 'a painting'outsomnia19 wrote: man screw u, to say vurtish takes away from ur own creativity. create ur own style and dont rely on other peoples preasscociated ideas of what ur music sounds like. He used 'vurtish' because we all know what kind of music vurt makes, we all know it means experimental spacey ambient music, and this definition can be loosely interpreted, which means, it's just an indicator of what kind of music it is. You have to give it some name and if I can choose between calling something 'experimental spacey ambient mucic or simple 'vurtish' I will bloody well call it vurtish too
