So you can show that the minilogue is a broken synth and the "clicking before the attack" can be shown on all settings in all vids so far?Mutant wrote:LOL do i really need to make a crappy picture in MS Paint to show all the newbies here what is the difference between fast envelopes that can give you a click if you set it that way and a broken synth that clicks on both slow attack and slow release ?
[edit]
Or wait !
I don't have to - you can download the video, put it in your DAW, zoom the waveform display, look at the clicks that happen BEFORE the Attack part of the envelope even starts.

If that is what I get for 600€, I can live with that.db3 wrote:Rumour has it they might have Kylie Minogue in there...

sadness at 27:49... filter sweeps are not steppish via panel knob but they do are via MIDI CC because the hated 0...127 ...same thing as in Waldorf Pulse 2
they both are good sounding analog stuff but i don't get why they don't think about good DAW interaction.
Why they did not implement simple 14 bit CC? Memory/PIC limitations?
Or maybe i'm an automation lover?
Sadly i'll have to pass this one

They could have added optional smoothing to the midi inputs. Perhaps it'll come in a future upgrade, though I doubt it.
Me, though, I can live with a bit of stepping. It's not even going to be noticable with a chorus or reverb, and as I use a lot of stepped modulation deliberately to get an artificial sound, it'll fit right in with my sound, as will the noise from the delay. Probably, though, I'll just record audio from it and tweak the knobs in realtime.

yes. probably the only one solution for slow precise sweepsSendy wrote:Probably, though, I'll just record audio from it and tweak the knobs in realtime.

i doubt it to. Pulse 2 never managed to get 14bit CC in years. Probably the "average" user does not need precise sweeps or doesn't notice steppish sweeps too much.Sendy wrote:They could have added optional smoothing to the midi inputs. Perhaps it'll come in a future upgrade, though I doubt it.

Live performance is kind of the point of getting a hands-on synth like this. Not that I'm making excuses for a bit so great design choice. But I can't recall ever actually sequencing cc automation of my hardware synths, at least not since sequencers became DAWS with the ability to record my performances straight to audio. Usually I would just sequence the notes over midi and then record that to audio while performing with the knobs.lalo wrote:yes. probably the only one solution for slow precise sweepsSendy wrote:Probably, though, I'll just record audio from it and tweak the knobs in realtime.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

The inbuilt motion sequencing also makes up for the lack of LFOs. As far as I can infer, each step in the sequencer holds one value per chosen knob (up to four) and you can choose to sweep between each stream of values, or step. This is going to be really useful for doing things like modulating the PW of one oscillator but not the other, and getting by the other limitations of the LFO.
Four automation loops plus hands-on tweaking is going to allow a lot of crazy stuff
Automation from the DAW could be used to do certain things, such as modulate pitchbend to provide vibratos. I just wish mine would hurry up and arrive!

Ahem, let's try again...
Has anyone got any links to any audio examples or vids of audio going through the inputs please?
I've seen one reference in a YT comment about Korg's Facebook page having a vid demoing them can't find anything

Korg is not Waldorf as far as OS updates are concerned. I am fairly sure if enough users push Korg, they'll do it.lalo wrote:i doubt it to. Pulse 2 never managed to get 14bit CC in years. At about 26.20 he sends a Volca sample loop though minilogues filter for some fun.
