Check this thread out from Gearslutz; I also attached one of mine from the VI section. Both address performance.

"Check out performance meter 126 tracks with Slate VMR on every track plus some another 50 additional inserts - Hammer down the spikes"

"After having some issues prior to todays's Logic Free Point Release, the Dune 2 CPU issue has been seriosuly reduced, and eradicated if the presets are in order; Logic now includes Multi-threading support-- and El Cap has given me a boost too. I'm also having no latency issues with respect to automation."

The Multi-Threading is in effect in this project, even though it is not live performance. Prio to El Cap & Logic 10.2.1, I was clocking as high as 350%. Now it's well below 100% and spread among the cores.

Whatever they did about multi threading.... it works good for me. I have a lot of saved stack tracks as single multi instruments which takes huge amount on cpu and i could play them just alone and even no fast chords but now i can load about 4-5 from them at the same time and i can play it live and finally without i get stutter and drop outs due to cpu overload. Really nice. For a small point update this was pretty good in general!

Thanks for the explanation, guys! Very helpful. :tu:

The new multi-threading is indeed a game changer, what a great update!

O.k. about the multi threading again.... it´s awesome really! On my i7 quadcore macbook pro i just was able to run one live intstance of Kaleidoscope (sometimes 2) with settings to max and a latency 1024. Now i can run 5 plus a B2 in one channel! That´s a lot more i would dream from.
The bad news (for Apple) i don´t need a faster notebook anymore

Are you on Yosemite or El Cap? I wonder how much Metal makes a difference?

I'm on Yosemite (i would be still on Mavericks if i didn't need the Yosemite features about bluetooth and iOS integration).
I don't plan to update to El Cap. because i'm scared to break a lot stuff again!

What is the PDC problem you are having?
