I mean, should I feel some remorse for being so unkind?

Exactly. Some people love to argue just to argue and will do anything including misconstrue statements to get there. No one AFAIK said that Willy and his products and his staunch followers and evil henchmen were nothing more than a dump truck full of monkey dung at any point in this thread. Now did anyone say that? The answer is no!braj wrote:I'm not bashing him, or his products, I am criticizing his marketing policies. This isn't personal dude. So, where's the info for this new DAW that is already being sold? That you don't see the issue here, I dunno, I don't know why you are so upset. Lots of passionate, hard working developers don't do these sorts of things. That he is a nice guy doesn't make his policies good for customers.

Damn dude, I feel bad for you. Your life must be hard. I was only asking if you were preordering, which I admittedly think is a funny, unwise thing to do. Thus the
but that definitely wasn't a 'personal attack'

So, back on topic, is there ANY info on this DAW at all?
Well, there is this:
So, as long as he is totally sureNew cross-platform Digital Audio Workstation stand alone application. This is by far the biggest project I have ever worked on, but I'm totally sure that something good will come out of this. It will allow you to create sequences by hosting VST and AU plugins, maybe other formats too. Windows and MAC compatible. This project also replaces Wusik SEQ, so if your pre ordered it, you will receive this product instead. I will have more information about this project later on.

No jpg, no $
I asked William a question about Wusikstation a long time ago on a private message, email & topic post, and no word. I understand being busy, but no response lets me know where someone's interests are, especially when I see they are active in other places. In that time there have been 2 group buys & now Wusikstation is now headed for another transition.
As others have said, you've gotta follow up on the first thing I give you money on before we proceed. Wusikstation 8 has only been out for like a year or so and there is already a replacement? DAW work is demanding on even multi-developer companies, let along a 1 man operation. What is going to happen after the 1st year of Wusik DAW ZO? Wusik DAW AP, bigger & better with another pre-buy (including all previous instruments)?
It's not a bash, it's a reality check. I would really like to be wrong.

Honestly, I am tempted to join the group buy and get WS8 upgrade, so I have to decide by the 28th I guess. Buying existing products is fine, I'll support that.

A few years ago he was going to release his own OS for audio.
I think hed just started to learn programming and soon realised this might not be as easy as he thought.

Hey guys, I only saw this today.
First of all, a lot of you guys didn't know this, as I wanted to keep it private, but I was diagnostic with a serial health problem, which I don't want to talk about. But it is brain related. I got divorced 3 times in the past 4 years due to this problem I had, and also lost everything I had. Now I'm under heavy medication and have two doctors taking care of me. I'm doing OK and can start working again, that's why I'm trying to come up with a new plan for this year, so I can keep working on Wusik and support myself.
Now, secondly, in the past months I have released two BIG projects, Wusik 4000/8000 and Wusik Station V8, both cross platform and based on the same base-code. Those were a BIG thing for me, my first real cross platform thing.
Finally, as some stated, no need to pay attention to me if I don't like me, just ignore me. I have worked hard on Wusik for more than 10 years, actually. I have been called a Code GURU from big top programmers here on KVR. Sadly I did made bad decisions on the business side due to my health problems, I apologize for that, but I can't really change the past, just the future.
Right now those projects are on crowd funding terms, I'm trying to see if people will bear with me, or if I should just go away and do something else, which would be a total shame. That's the reality right now. Lucky for me, and for the users who enjoy my products, is that I live in Brazil and the USD to local currency ratio is very good. So I don't need a boat load of sales, just enough to get me by.
If anything of this sounds bad, please, talk to me. My English is far from perfect, and to make a point thru text is sometimes hard.
And to remember something, a lot of users said Wusik 4000 and Wusik Station V8 were vaporware, and they couldn't be more wrong. I released both products, even under severe health problems. They are both great products, with flaws, but still great. I will keep updating those products with time, when possible. Wusik 4000 was never abandened. It got an update not far ago. And since Wusik 8000 uses Wusik 4000 as a base, every time something is fixed on Wusik 8000 the same happens for Wusik 4000.
I don't know what else to say, just trying to keep going. If anyone wants to know about my situation you can PM me, but keep it private, as I am a bit hurt with the diagnostics I received, and it is something I will need to have in mind for the rest of my life. I turned 41 just one month ago, so keep that in mind.
As for the Wusik DAW project, I have some ideas, and I will share those soon. When I replaced products pre-ordered with something else, it was only done as very few users did the preorder, so don't use that as a base. The only big project that was scratched was due to severe health problems I had some years ago, which I talked about in public. Those are also taken care now and is not the same problem I faced recently.
You have to be careful with the things you say, as sometimes they are not what really happened. Sadly that are just a bunch of users who really hate me, but lucky for me hundreds who love my work.
Wusik is just me and the contribution of Skin GUI Designers, that's all. Is not always easy, mostly very hard to cope with. But I will keep doing what I think I should do. Been from Brazil usually presents some problems, as I tend to say things that are not what I meant, or do business models that may not be the best practices. But I find it funny when other BIG companies does the exact same thing and no one complains. Like the massive number of IK's group buys. NI doing ultra big discounts on a $1k product down to $99 and no one complaining. Recently SONAR (now owned by Gibson) going into a total subscription model, something I tried to do several years ago and got massively burned. I guess that when you are ONE guy is easy to bash... oh well...
Cheers, WilliamK

IK group buys and no one complains? Uhm read well KVR and check IK reputation around...
$1k to $99 and no one complains? Uhm same as above, read well...
SONAR has gone into PARTIAL subscription model (you can still get everything paying one single time) and it's going well because in my opinion they're supporting their business model with *facts* - ie they are so far fulfilling their promises both on new features and bug fixes pace.
I don't hate you, I think you have made very bad business decisions in the past, and you are admitting it as well. I left the Wusik train for these reasons, period. Anyway, shelling out poison like you are doing now won't get you anywhere good.
Just my two cents,
Mario
