Looks like a nice kit.

Be good if it would work properly though, it sounds great, and is ok for just mixing, but can't be used as a fully fledged DAW, has many issues with plugins, if you do try using as a fully fledged DAW it is crash city. I guess they realize this because in their advertisements and videos they push the sound (true) and the Mixing abilities (True)

But if it ever gets there, and being based on a Linux product I have my doubts, and it works like any other DAW, ie, you can use whatever plugins, virtual instruments etc you like, and aren't restricted like we are today because MB has issues with so many, and it stops crashing like smash up derby driver, it could be good.

I look forward to trying the 3.1 release to see whats changed, and if there has been any improvement in vst/vsti support and stability, not holding my breathe though.

VST problems is the main reason i didn't update to version 3. They sold version 2.X has having VST support, but then only less than half of my plugins were working.

I never understood this...lets say, how useful is this when working with Cubase??? I heard many good things
but i actually do not know how you use a Mixer within a Mixer in Cubase...or i am missing something?

V2 works with all but about 5 of my plugins - there are quirks but it's super stable and a joy to use. V3 looks far less than satisfactory going by the forum.

Wow. Looks like my fears are warranted. The main reason I've been interested is audio editing and lovely that seems (after recording the parts elsewhere)

Basically you export your stems or whatever you like to call them, import to MB and have at it, it does impart a very nice sound and I guess 'feel' maybe, nice, punchy, it is a gorgeous sound, not for all styles I wouldn't think, don't know if Electronic stuff would benefit as much ? But in my experience using it for anything else, ie the complete DAW experience, is a complete disaster, crashing, incompatibilities with plugs, vsti's etc. It may get there, but from my experience in the world of Linux, I don't hold out a lot of hope for anything that was based off a Linux Native product, but who knows, I really hope it does get there because it looks and sounds gorgeous, it's just those other little things :D holding it back.

I'm 52, so I haven't got that much time left, and at the pace the Linux world moves, I mightn't live to see it :D

And I was gonna do an ibtw (in before theom winges) post, but thought better of it.
Would have been another win :hihi:

Thank You Sir...i was guessing the same but was not sure...in my case then useless, all the high end plugins that i own this would not really make any difference...they might not even work there plus the extra work of exporting and bringing the Stems in there to use the same Plugins i can use in Cubase...as a DAW, i don't know.

The point in that case would be more to use it's built in dsp, eq, compression, saturation etc. I haven't needed much when mixing stems in it aside from a good reverb plug and a decent delay plug.

I mean, there's no real point in dropping stems into MixBus and putting Slate Tape plugins on 24 channels or whatever but you might still want to use some of your other plugs, especially delays and reverbs and maybe chorus or similar. I think the only 3rd party plugs I ever used in it were probably only Altiverb, Waves Supertap & Waves Doubler.

Other stuff, like amp sims, should be printed on the stems already.

It's the same merry-go-round.

Anyways, let the debate continue!
