Yosemite - El Capitain update with Logic X - any issues?

Hi there,

I am thinking about upgrading from 10.9 to 10.10. Are there still any issues with Logic X and AUs? + Using an Apogee Quartet, plus a Raven MTI and Komplete Kontrol / Maschine.

I feel it is about time, but I wanna make sure this won't turn into upgrade hell...

I posted a few things about this & the short answer is by all means upgrade, keep a back up in case.

I'd recommend posting such a question on Gearslutz or LogicProHelp as there are far more Logic users / supporters than here on KVR. The KVR constituency appears to be more PC-Centric, whereas on Gearslutz it is more platform agnostic and very Logic / Cubase centric when it comes to DAWs. The commentary regarding plugins (effects) is of a higher caliber. Also, the EDM section is outstanding for mixing, HW & SW, and interestingly the Movie / Cinema section is the place to go for sample libraries.

However, the VI & Sampler section on KVR is pretty good in my eyes. Every once in a blue moon something peaks my interest in Effects, the opposite of Gearslutz.

I've moved more to Live too, and their discussion board is good, though Ableton has their own too. Same with DP.

If you have a spare USB hard drive (or stick) you can install 10.10 onto it and leave your 10.9 install intact. This way you can see how it works. Just hold down the option key on boot to choose the external disk (or pick it in the Startup Disk prefpane).

That's how I moved from Snow to Mavericks and then to Yosemite. I have El Capitan on an external disk now but so far I'm not ready to move to it. Still needs work.

Thanks guys, that's very helpful indeed - a backup copy (always) sounds like a good idea. Any specific problems I should expect?
