Pardon my ignorance, but I've been unable to find a satisfying description of I-Map and how it relates to the SR drum samples.

Is it just a (live) performance thing related to how the samples are mapped to the keyboard?

Or... Does it also help allevaiate the dreaded "machine-gun" effect when programming rolls and fills? (Like the Spectrasonics stuff.)

As far as the Sonic Refills go, is it only found in the Reality Drums refill, or do the other refills (Monster Drums, Vintage Drums) also have this feature?

Thanks.

Only the Reality Drums from the Sonic Refill volume series is I-Map.

It does help to avoid machine-like sounding drum tracks and fluid rolls etc.

Monster Drums and Vintage Drum refills are in GM map but they have a little bit of "extra" hits to them to help avoid that effect too.

Other I-Map drum kits are being made for Reason refills.

Also, you can read more about the I-Map from the description of this library: http://www.esoundz.com/details/viewDeta ... er=bundles

Ah, thanks for the link. I had been stuck in the Refills and the Dums Capsule sections, neither of which really explained it.

Can you elaborate just a bit on the "extras" in the Monster and Vintage Drums libraries that might help alleviate the machine-gun effect?

Thanks
